This could take a while....its all a bit varied, but so is the human being(Deep man!):P. I guess it depends on ones mood right? Here's a few..... starting with Bob Dylan, it all begins here because my dad thinks he is Bob Dylan and for many years so did I.(See Below)I like alot of older stuff like The Moody Blues, Nina Simone, David Bowie, Blondie, The Pretenders, The Beach Boys yea! heheh The Pixies, The Who,Jimmy Hendrix, The Violent Femmes, Paul Weller, The Jam, Cat Stevens, The Beatles and many more not mentioned. More recently though The Editors, We are scientists, OCS, Bloc Party, The Doves, Mumm-ra, MGMT, Kasabian, The Kooks, The Futureheads, The Strokes, Blur, The Killers, Rodrigo y Gabriela, The Coral, Maximo Park, Kings of Leon, PJ Harvey, Gomez, Muse, Blind Melon, The Verve, Richard Ashcroft, Collective Soul, The Foo's, The Zutons, Massive Attack, Maccabees, Vampire Weekend, The Shake and The Klaxons, to name but a few. Oh did I mention I love the Strokes?Sheesh Bob is the King. To be honest I appreciate all music as long as it can stir up some emotion in me. When that happens I know it's good...to me anyway. So to try and mention all the music I like to listen to from Electropunk to good old fashioned Jazz seems to me a pointless endeavour. All I know and the only thing that matters is that I love it. Enough said.
I'm a bit of a film enthusiast but not in a fanatical way, a few favourites are Amelie (Thanks Arlyn), The Lord of the Rings trilogy (I always loved the book), The Shawshank redemption,Sideways, Almost Famous, Fight Club, Crouching tiger hidden dragon, Motorcycle diaries, Surviving Picasso, Dazed and confused, Shaun of the Dead, Unfaithful,Donnie Darko, Frida, The passion of the Christ and ofcourse Agter Elke Man ha ha.
Never mind the buzzcocks, Bill Bailey cracks me up. Flight of the conchords.
Lord of the rings- Tolkien,Don Quixote- Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra, Ian Banks- The Wasp factory, Birdsong - Sebastian faulks and The best seller of all time The Bible, there's alot to be learnt. Shakespeare (Titus Andronicus) 'These words are razors to my wounded heart.' = Does it get any better than this?
Frida Kahlo is inspiring, what a life, what a legend. Also...The proud spawn of two very rock n' roll people!----------- I really like Alex James too and really like his writing. I like the way he thinks and feel like I can relate to him. It's weird, there aren't that many modern day figures that have really made an impression on me apart from him. I like Alex because he likes women, the cosmos, music & alchohol & generally because he seems to concern himself with more intruiging & worthwhile ideas rather than limiting his thoughts to the mundane ongoings of the modern world. Modern life is Rubbish ey?Then there is the one and only hero of all time Jesus Christ! I am not ashamed to say.
