Sounds Like:Lizzy Band was founded in 2003 in Lappeenranta, Finland. The main reason to put Lizzy Band together is to keep up Phil Lynot..s memory and music. The idea of the band began in 2003 when Moso and Hanski went to Vibe for Philo-event in Dublin. They got a hint from Jarmo Nikku who had been playing at the same event with his Finn Lizzy band in 2002. Jarmo told us that the party was great and the atmosphere was relaxed. So we desided to fly to Dublin to check if Jarmo was telling the thruth. And he was. Great feeling, great bands. In Dublin after couple wine bottles came out the idea to establish Thin Lizzy cover band. So we had a bass player and the other guitarist ready. We started to think about the other possible members of the coming band. The drummer Matti Björn who is also “an oldschool musician” came first to our minds. We had played earlier with the guitarist Matti Gran and realized that the guitar harmonies sounded really good together. Matti had heart a band Fat Bat Orchestra playing Thin Lizzy..s songs and liked the vocalist Tony..s sound and his commitment to the whole thing. After couple of phone calls we had a band Lizzy Band.Lizzy Band does gigs quite rarely. The main thing is to have fun and enjoy playing good music. All the band member have families and children which limits this hobby a little bit.The whole band travelled to Vibe for Philo-event in 2005. We had great time there again and now “We have a dream” that one day Lizzy Band could play in Dublin to honour Philo..s memory and music. To help our dream come true we made a demo in Joutseno Katajahalli studio. The songs were recorded live, mixed by Late Kuosa and mastered by Jimi Sumen. Hope we see you next January in Dublin.
