About Me
Tarnue Massaquoi, born in Brooklyn, New York, grew up in Liberia (Land of Liberty, Land of the Free Black Slaves) since the age of 4, is the youngest of three. During the civil war in Liberia, Tarnue came to the United States to further his studies. He stayed in New York briefly where he attended August Martin H.S in Queens and later on graduated from High School in Rhode Island at Mt Pleasant...He studied Engineering Arts/Business at Michigan State University and obtained his Bachelor Science degree but there was more he wanted to accomplish, thanks to an acting class he took in his final year at Michigan State, that sparked his creative and artistic juices. With family being caught up in the midst of war, he started writing poems, performing on stage doing spoken word and began studying Classical and Contemporary plays... He moved to Arizona, where he studied more classical plays, undergoing intensive conservatory courses at Scottsdale Community College and Sedona Conservatory Institute. He studied for six years and decided to move to California to pursue Television and Films. He found a theatrical family at Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum where the Legendary Ellen Geer took him under her wings. He has performed in plays like Under Milk Wood, Othello with James Avery. Tarnue landed a leading role in a feature film called The Third Heaven that was later on picked up. He recently completed another project, Everyday, playing the role of a real life motivational speaker, Joseph McClendon III, who fought the odds against doctors, through means of research and training, and beating cancer that plagued his mother. Growing up in Liberia has taught Tarnue, the beauty of life, enjoying the littlest things that God has to offer, but more importantly, being appreciative, industrious, diligent and always putting GOD FIRST through any kinds of weather. With that said, Tarnue is pleased to be in California pursuing his dream. Tarnue recently booked a NATIONAL TYLENOL COMMERCIAL and will be aired during the Superbowl...."GOD IS GOOD, ALL THE TIME, THROUGH THE UPS AND DOWNS, HE NEVER LET ME DOWN, THROUGH THE PERILS AND STRIFE, HE NEVER ALLOWS ME TO LOSE SIGHT OF MY LIFE...IT'S SO EASY TO BE NEGATIVE, SO EASY TO FEEL LIKE THERE'S NOTHING LEFT TO LIVE FOR, NOTHING TO GIVE, OR TO OFFER..BUT THE JOURNEY IS SO MUCH SWEETER THAN THE TASTE OF WINTER, BITTER WHEN IT IS SUMMER, AND WHEN IT IS SPRING, I SEEM NOT TO REMEMBER...AND THAT'S WHY I HOLD HIM DEAR TO MY HEART, ALWAYS AND FOREVER, FOR ALL OF THIS CAN COME AND GO, BUT I PRAY EACH AND EVERYDAY, TO NEVER, EVER LOSE MY CORE, MY CENTER, MY SOUL!In the midst of my Atrocities
In the midst of my Adversities
My Trials and Tribulations
I'm allowed endless possibilties to pour my soul through a needle like hole for the World to see....Only in the end to be free and happy
I promise always to be true in this new Art form, always to explore, transform and never to lose my core, my soul...
With Time, I'll evolve, love, endure...and continue to grow....I choose and believe in this Art form because, I believe in the exploration of Life, and Self...depicting Stories that touch Human lives....To Impact, and be impacted upon, to feel, and be felt...For this has no hue, no ethnicities, no race, or culture...It's universal when it's true and pure
