Mic Blu, a formidable vocalist, songwriter, and lyricist, is a youthful heart with an "old spirit". His creative blend of classic soul and newschool trends have garnered him recognition with Gospel and secular fans alike. He now carves out a niche for himself by way of his "Modern Hymns", a sub-genre of Nureau (coined by label-mate and super-producer, Tonex). While he was very well known for his talents in highschool, Mic Blu made his debut in 2003, with a demo EP entitled "I’ve Been Altared", which was well received.
His debut full-length release, "BLU: Love. Hate." was released on Valentine’s Day 2008 to a worldwide audience via the MySpace Music and iTunes digital stores. His intense love for music is evident in the recording, as he uses his foundation and love for formal training to intertwine a number of genres. His desire to depict every facet of Ultimate Love is complimented well by keen, heartfelt lyrical content. The album went dark from the public’s access in late March, followed by news that the artist would be re-releasing an all-new, remastered, hard-copy version of the album with an exclusive tracklisting. Advanced copies of the new project will be available for purchase at the RED 4:12 release concert, an event celebrating the debut of Blu’s brother, DAVID 2.0. CLICK HERE to subscribe for details.
