Hidden Dog Bites is a project that began when cousins Brian Gallagher and Nathan Noble, working together on minimal semi-ambient electronic psychedelia as "Surface Committee," joined with Evan Noble (Nathan's little brother) to try something different: shameless formulaic pop songs. Like Surface Committee, HDB worked out of Nathan's attic in Kent, Ohio, lacking any type of formal training in music, operating cheap, half-broken equipment, and singing despite the fact that nobody really knew how to sing. But, despite these obstacles, in September of 2005 the trio finished its first album (self-titled), due out in late December.
