About Me

Hosted at YourSpaceNow.com

Hello There! Well, I guess I'll pick up from graduating high school (Winter Park class of '99). I got an AA Degree from Valencia Community College, met my now fiance, Justin, we moved to Jacksonville, FL where I got a B.A. Degree in Psychology/Sociology at UNF, which I am finally sort of using with my new job. I got my Real Estate License right after my B.A. and have been a Realtor for a couple years now. Anyone want to move to Jacksonville? =) In my spare time, I paint and do other artsy things, spend time with family and friends, and think of new things to involve myself with. I Love to travel, but get to do so rarely. I've been to New York City, North Carolina, South Carolina, New Orleans (pre-Katrina), Atlanta, Savannah, and all the states in between, and Miami, St. Augustine, and other Florida cities. I would Love to go to Europe someday or even the west coast of the U.S. I'm working on it. We have two puppies, well actually they're pretty big now. Emily (German Shephard/Chow mix) and Eddie (German Shephard/Pit Bull mix). We adopted them both from the Humane Society, and they're Awesome. We bought our first house May of last year. Buying your first house really makes you feel grown up. We're proud to be homeowners. We try to travel to Orlando at least once a month because both our families still live there and we have friends who still live there. Two hours is a good distance, by the way. I've reached a point in my life where I want to be the best Me I can be. I'm taking on the things I'm afraid of and making a point to learn things I don't yet know. I'm stepping outside my "comfort zone" every chance I get. I just joined Toastmasters (to conquer my fear of Public Speaking), I'm looking into private pilot lessons (fear of flying/heights), and I signed up for a T'ai Chi class- it sounded like a lot of fun. I also took the Mensa IQ test in June and was invited to join- so I did. (Sweet!!!) =) I want to begin a Master's program in Counseling Psychology at the University of North Florida, but first I have to take the dreaded GRE's. I definitely see that in the future. Justin and I are going to take a motorcycle safety course soon, which is good since we already bought a bike. We like thinking about new businesses to start. We started Clarity Pool & Spa last year, and we're working to get it off the ground this summer. We also like playing Sudoku, and we're getting really good at it! I'm a very goal-oriented person and I always have something new in the works, so if you're curious, just ask. I have also started eating much healthier, and so far, I have lost: 30 pounds in the last 5 months! =)It's cool to catch up with people you haven't talked to in a while, or barely knew, or don't know at all. =)I would like to meet Nice, Cool, Fun People. Any unique, creative or brilliant individual with an open mind and optimistic outlook on life.

My Interests

Things I find Interesting... I like spending time with people I like spending time with. I like road trips with no predetermined destination. I like art and music and movies. I like painting, I just started, so it's a lot of fun. I have played tennis twice and that's a lot of fun, too. I like driving with the windows rolled down on a nice day. I volunteer as a mentor at the Children's Home Society, and that's awesome. I like chocolate-covered strawberries and Moscato d'Asti wine. I like cooking, but I don't like washing dishes, so we just bought a dish washer- Woohoo! I don't like small-talk, but I do like talking about stuff that matters. I like open-minded, laid-back people w/ different outlooks on life. I love singing and dancing in my car, but only when I'm alone, which reminds me...I need to get tinted windows. I like coffee and tea, but I don't like soda. I want to learn a foreign language, but I have a bad memory and very little patience. I know a little Spanish from high school, but that only ends up getting me in trouble. A response to my spanish equivalent of "a little bit" (to "do I speak spanish?") is usually something that's a Lotta bits, and then it's awkward. I would like to learn French, though. Maybe I'll give that a shot someday. I love daydreaming and thinking of things to create or begin or change. I like relaxing with my fiance and our 2 dogs. I love seeing anything live- shows, music, stand-up comedy. I love laughing and noticing the beauty in life.

Music:

Yes, please. I LOVE music; almost all of it. I Love Dave Matthews Band, Coldplay, everyone on the Garden State Soundtrack, Jack Johnson, Sigur Ros, Radiohead, The Shins, Frou Frou, The Mercury Program, The Beatles, Frank Sinatra, radio booty music, rap, hip-hop, mtv-type stuff, classical, etc, etc... there's really too much to list.

Movies:

I like movies too, but I'm a little more picky. And out of nowhere, I can no longer watch a movie more than once. I guess it's a time thing? Some of my favorite movies are Garden State, Elizabethtown, 50 First Dates...anything with Drew Barrymore and/or Adam Sandler, The Wedding Singer, Wedding Crashers, Anchorman, I don't like the whole Corky Ramano movie, but that part where he sniffed a little white stuff and was being interviewed in front of the kids..."Question, Question..." I Laugh every single time. If I could carry just that clip around with me at all times...What else, I really like Al Pacino, Christopher Walken, Robert Dinero, Ben Stiller... Meet the Parents was great, movies involving the mafia I like. I also like Johnny Depp, Angelina Jolie, and Brad Pitt. Fight Club was great. American Beauty, Seven, Amelie, Good Will Hunting, etc...

Television:

New favorite... Criminal Minds. Holy crap, what a Great show! I also like The Apprentice, The Daily Show, Scrubs, That 70's Show, The Simpsons, MTV (it's a guilty pleasure, I know), King of Queens, Medium, CSI, Without a Trace, NCIS, The Office, My name is Earl, Made, Reno 911, The Food Network, etc. I also love Comedy Central for their Stand-Up comedy!

Books:

I don't read a lot and I feel really bad about that. But I am reading "Me Talk Pretty One Day" currently, because it was a birthday present from Cayce and Aron. Usually I read non-fiction and magazines like Money, Fortune, Maxim, Bridal Magazines (new wedding date: 10/13/2007), and People.

Heroes:

Spiderman. What Dave Matthews Band Song Are You (Results Contain Pictures)?
