I am mostly a homebody so I don't go out much. I like watching movies, either at home, the Esquire or Newport on the Levee. I love going to see bands play. It is so hard to get a good show in Cincinnati though, why is that? I used to love going dancing, but all the clubs I used to frequent are shut down, showing my age, huh? Otherwise you are more likely to see me at the Southgate House, The Comet, Gyspy Hut or Northside Tavern.
I'd like to meet:
Madonna, Prince, Trent Reznor, Joaquin Phoenix, etc. If I could meet someone who is dead, Sigmund Freud, he is so bizarre, but I bet the conversation would be stimulating... Oh yeah, for my hopeless romantic side, Prince Charming or at least someone who understands me, accepts me, and likes me just the way I am, flaws and all.
Music:
I love pretty much all types of music. I have my standard 80's obsessions like Madonna, Prince, the Smiths, Erasure, the Cure, Depeche Mode, etc., but then I also like punk rock like MXPX, NOFX, and No Use For A Name. Lately I am listening to Johnny Cash, the Deftones, Lily Allen, Kate Nash, Twilight Singers, Nine Inch Nails. I could go on and on...I will pretty much give any music a listen there's just too many bands for me to name them all.
Movies:
Walk the Line, the Unbearable Lightness of Being, Pride and Prejudice, Frida, Kill Bill both Volumes, Blade, the Notebook, Juno, Love Actually, and old Disney. I tend to stay in the romantic comedy genre, but every now and again I have to see a little action.
Television:
Heroes and House are ones I try not to miss. I also watch a lot of cheesy television on MTV and Vh1.
Books:
Memoirs of a Geisha is one of my favorite books. I always try to read a book before it gets turned into a movie. The books are almost always better since it's almost impossible to create what every person is visualizing because our perceptions are so different. The Devil Wears Prada and ShopGirl were great books and movies even. I read books on Buddhism, but I also like the Anita Blake Vampire Chronicles by Laurell K. Hamilton. This probably stems from my prior enjoyment of Anne Rice. I'm always reading, so let me know if there's something out there you enjoyed.
Heroes:
I don't really know about this one, hero is such a weird term. Right now I am really proud of my mother for battling breast cancer though, so I'll say her.
