He started rapping in the 7th grade in middle school " one day I was at the crib an i seen a bow wow take over on bet and i was like eyyy that can be me because that lil nigga aint a G", remebers Skalla. He quickly started righting raps to to every beat he would hear but he was only 12 no one took him seriously so he was quickly discouraged. So he gave up is rapping career in the 8th grade and played football. With people srongly encouraging him to give up rap and just play football because of his amazing speed and field awareness, Skalla still felt like he had sumthing to prove he realized he wanted to be famous "God put me on this earth to entertain so thats what i’ma do," Said SkaLLa. So he was playin football and still rappin just doing little freestyle battles with his boys all day and night out side of his old complex in southfield even then he was only 14. Thats when his friends and family deemed him IceeBoy because is cold lyrical ability, He finally thought his big break was about to come when he met up with lil Zane when he was 15, " I met alot of mainstream niggaz and like i’ve been real cool with them but they ended up hoein me in the long run so i became a loner doin wateva it took to get shit done but i didnt depend on no nigga" recalls Skalla, but it was a deal to good to be true so he stop rapping completely until the 11th grade when he met a highschool friend by the name of D-easy and togather they formed a duo called the Detroit City Slickaz but that even fell short because there ego’s collided IceeBoy’s dream was to always be a leader which he could only be by rapping solo so they split up after high school. After IceeBoy/ Skalla new he wasnt goin to get a football scholarship he desided to go to schoolcraft college and take up recording technology to become a producer but even still he couldnt stay away from the streets and the beats he dropped outta college after the first year and started to chase his rap career, after he met his cousins bestfriend Q who had a studio and provided him to record 24/7 so thats what he did all summer of 2006 he worked, stayed on the grind and did his whole mixtape called Bottom 2 Da Top, he did showcases for Jive Records Hitz Commitee like 3 times and he still didnt get a deal.. So IceeBoy desided to rap his mic up until one day in 2007 paper trail c.e.o. prophecy came in to footaction where skalla works at as a assisstant manger at lincoln park and picked up his mixtape and relized he had talent but everyone still told him it was one thing missing...They said if he wanted a new start he was going to have to change his name, "thats how Skalla was born and how IceeBoy is just my crazy alter ego..
