About Me

This page has changed so many times even I'M confused. Breakthrough Promotions is a labor of love for Dan Lang and has been for over 4 years. Dan started out in the business as a drummer for a band that had moderate success in Central Florida called The Skeeterz. (Who could forget "Get Rednekked"? The Skeeterz gig lasted for about a year. After Dan's Swamp Rock journey, he joined a band from Palm Coast called Stemm Cell. During Dan's time with Stemm Cell, he continued to get involved in the business end of the business. Booking shows for Stemm Cell, promoting those shows, booking shows for other bands, etc. In September of 2004, Stemm Cell was invited to play a local music show sponsored by Daytona's Classic Rock Station, 95.7FM "The Hog", called The Scene. The band met the show's host Tattoo Todd and Dan started working with Todd on the show almost immediately. Before long, Todd had left the show and Dan was charged with booking and promoting the show, as well as doing a weekly report on the radio show, called "The Local Music Minute". For this segment Dan needed to contact bands, interview them, report their show dates etc. That's when Breakthrough Promotions started. Dan worked on the show for about a year with host Frank Scott, then left the show in 2007. Through that time, Dan was a music feature writer for Backstage Pass Magazine, What's Happening Daytona, Spacejunkies.com, and international rock magazine Vainquer. For the past year or so, Dan has been playing drums in Tribute/Cover bands and laying low. Well, as of August 2008, Breakthrough is back in business. Dan is currently working with Get Amped! Magazine in Jacksonville as a music writer and plans on being out on the Scene a lot more. If you're a band that needs promo or booking help or anything else, send us an email.
