Don't hurt what you can't kill

About Me

Things I am not: dumb, disconnected from the world, short, thin, tired, unemployed, living at home, engaged, a father, currently the owner of a car, contributing to my 401k, registered to vote in Jersey, married, boring, active in my community, interested in ignorant conversation, a pianist, a Yankee fan, a believer of extraterrestrial life, afraid of the dark, technology illiterate, dependent, one who cares about hockey, a fan of foreign of films, a frequent visitor of museums, an avid reader (though, I was at one time), master of multitasking, "religious", impressed by celebrity, keeping up with my physical therapy, an ass-kisser, lazy, easily impressed… = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = Things I most certainly am: a homeowner (finally!), interesting, intelligent, a sports freak...and big BEARS fan, someone that watches a lot of movies, always looking to meet new people, eager to become a more productive member of society, a workaholic, a toy and game nut, reliant on the Web for my news, more interested in watching people than watching TV, a great listener, a fan of magazines, pro choice, always the comedian in the group, tall, friendly to everyone, conversation enthusiast, in favor of spending time with my friends, always supportive, always on time for appointments, my niece and nephew’s no.1 fan, more interested in cooking for people than being cooked for, appreciative for my friends and family, a man of my word, a horrible singer, karaoke maniac, one helluva an organizer, great party-thrower, traveler, anti-Bush…

My Interests

I enjoy watching people, movies, sports, reality TV, etc. I prefer being outdoors to indoors. I'd rather be doing something... anything... as opposed to sitting around. Spending time with my friends is top on my list.New York Mets. Chicago Bears. I'm an emotional trainwreck when these guys are losing.I'm also very dedicated to my career, which - as luck would have it - involves toys and games. LOTS of toys and games. Yeah, real tough being an overgrown child getting paid to play around the office! As such, I'm always interested in hearing from people that are fans of action figures, board games, RPGs, TCGs, etc.

I'd like to meet:

Sexy Grossman, Lovie Smith, Ho-Jo, Barack Obama...hm? Oh! Rachel McAdams-Moscone. (I'm in love with her.)...or just about anyone else: AIM Screen Name -- JoeMoscone77

Music:

It's gotta rock. If I’m not thrown into fits of air guitar and spastic drum solos, I don’t want any part of it.White Stripes, Iron Maiden, Marilyn Manson, Neil Diamond, Sevendust, Chili Peppers, Elvis, 80s rock and pop, The Kills, System Of A Down, Run DMC, Rage Against The Machine, Kid Rock, Sabath, Zeppelin, Tool, early Metallica, Zack Wylde, Henry Rollins (and Rollins Band), The Cure, Black Flag, Green Day

Movies:

Nothing beats a good horror -- gore and fright flix. Suspense/Mysteries and dramas are good too. Some of my faves: The Departed, The Game, Very Bad Things, Inside Man, Shawshank, Misery, Platoon, Good Fellas, The Punisher, Casino, the original Star Wars trilogy, Stand By Me, The Goonies, Tommy Boy, Super Man 2, Dumb & Dumber, Spider-Man 1 & 2. I also have a bizarre soft spot for sappy and goofy romances...The Notebook? Yeah, I've seen it at least five times. Serendipity? Uh huh.I don't like Will Ferrell, Samuel L. Jackson and John Travolta. I really like David Spade, John Cusack, Tim Robbins, DeNiro, Quentin Tarantino, Harrison Ford...I bleed Grabowski through and through

Television:

Heroes, L&O: SVU, Prison Break, Top Chef, Man vs. Wild, Survivor Man, Good Eats, Nick @ Nite: Growing Pains, Roseanne, Threes Company and Perfect Strangers, Seinfeld, Scrubs, Behind The Music, Sanford and Son, The Jefferson, Facts of Life...

Books:

Don't read much anymore. I just don't have the time...unless we're talking about magazines, which I read regularly for work.I'll read anything by Chuck Palahunik, David Halberstam or Edmund Morris. I'm currently about 100 pages deep into October 1964 (DH) and Dutch (EM). I should probably make up my mind and buckle down.

Heroes:

I'll stick with superheroes as to avoid insulting anybody in my life... Iron Man and Hulk are the tits. There you have it.

But Sunday started off so good

On Saturday night I met up with a friend that I hadn't seen in more than a year. I probably should have never gone out, because I had started drinking heavily during the Mets game (vodka-clubs were f...

Strange Dreams

I'm known for having wickedly bizarre dreams, but I haven't had one of those in quite some time. Ask some of my friends about how I walked in on Josh making sweet man love to one of the Backstreet Bo...

My leg has been sore for the last three days.  (The leg I broke in Dec. and had surgically repaired; a 4" plate and eight screws were implanted.)  But I figured it was just muscle soreness, ...

A little part of me died last night

The wound is much too fresh at the moment, but at some point in the next week or so, I will lend my reflections on Super Bowl XLI -- and the Chicago Bears 2007 season. I should probably also shed som...

Broke my leg.

I broke my lower leg on Dec. 3. (See previous entry for the xrays.) The pain was manageable for the first week, but then I had surgery. MOTHERFUCKER!! The post-surgical pain wasn't so "manageable"...
