About Me

Hello this is Lily Rubio I am a Positive singer from Miami. Music has always been in my blood thanks to my Mom, who is singer/songwriter herself. She taught us to Dream and think BIG and always told me my brothers and sisters that we would all one day be famous. After high school I went to good ol' MDC, unsure of what I wanted to study, I really didn't want to do anything else but sing but everyone always says with music you have to have a "Plan B" so because I also loved working with young people I decided I would study to be a teacher...I would go to school during the day and then head straight to the studio when I was done. Then one day at school I saw a huge banner on campus that said " Get your degree in Miami's fast growing Music Industry...visit the Music Business Department today" I went that day and switched my major to Music Business. It was the one of the best decisions I made because I learned all about the business aspect of music. I recommend it to everyone! I learned from real industry people like Rey Sanchez (Cheyenne’s musical director) and Jose Negroni (back then of Sony Music Publishing) for my graduating internship. I also worked at South Beach Studios at the same time Mixing legend Tom Lord Alge had the studio booked for the year! The more I learned and saw the more I felt, it was not for me. I had been brought up in a religious LDS home and I quickly learned that the shadiness of the industry did not go along with my standards. Up until that point I had NO idea that there was such a thing as a Christian Music Industry. I began writing inspirational songs that carried a message. They all reflected my life as a good Christian Girl caught up in the middle of the "world" I began looking for places to perform these kinds of songs and discovered the Christian Music scene and found that that is where I wanted to be. I recorded my first Inspiration CD in English in 2005. And was nominated for "Song of the year" by the Gospel Music Association (GMA) in Nashville Tennessee out of over 500 songs submitted! I filmed a music Video for my song "Don't you See" with Director: KEN-X in Southern Cali and ended moving out there for the next almost 2 years. It was a wonderful experience but I returned back to Florida after getting married to my husband who was attending Medical School here. One of the great things about being married is that I have a constant fan motivating me to keep following my dreams of inspiring many young people all over the world thru song. Shortly after my return here and got back in the Studio to record my 2nd Cd, this time in Spanglish for all my Latinos and Spanglish people!!!! I am very pleased with all of my new songs, an exact release date has not yet been determined. I am working with a very talented producer (Ikis Escano) and the sound and style for this CD is so incredible. I can’t wait for you to hear it. I am organizing middle and high school tours to take my positive music and message to the school system. Our young people need to know there’s more to music than what they hear on the Radio and see on T.V. My goal is to bring to others the Joy and Happiness I have felt by knowing who I am and what my purpose is here in this earth. I know that God has a plan for us and if we come to Christ we will find lasting happiness and peace that can not be found any where else other than thru Jesus Christ. Stay tuned!
