The history of this band is under a veil of mystery. No one could mention either the exact day or the place when it appeared. The musicians refuse to comment the matter and the witnesses differ in their judgment about this. 60’? 70’? 50’? 00’? Detroit? London? Sydney? Auckland? Moscow? No one could give the exact answer…
Anyway the fact remains – The Types exist and everyone who is interested in Rock’n’roll cannot but acknowledge it.
Let’s leave aside the chronology and the geography cause they are not important for Art and let’s get to the point. What kind of music does the band play?
The first question that the ordinary listener
asks is “What it is like?†And that is the question that couldn’t be answered. To answer this question we should take all the music, which the members of the band have been listening to all their lives, mix it up, shake it up and serve it hot. That could be named as “The Types†style. The correct recipe we cannot reveal but some components are evident. The basic component of the majority of the songs (music compositions) is garage rock - the music played by MC5 and The Stooges in the late sixties. The other components are Glam rock of Sweet, T-Rex and Bowie, classic punk of Dead Kennedy’s and Ramones, something from Elvis, plus some disco and that it is – proletarian glam and bourgeois punk as a single whole.
Only a few can transform such a mix into Art and “The Types†are among them.
The live “Types†gig is an uncommon combination of rock-music and fashion – the initial idea of true rock’n’roll. The “Types†shining suits and tidy ties set off the dirty punk that plays the band.
These guys know how to rock!
Be sure to keep an eye out for the nearest gig of “The Typesâ€!
