I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I am a restaurant and bar manager by day and an independent filmmaker by night. I like to play chess and the guitar. I write a bit in a small black journal where I collect randomness: thoughts, quotes I hear or happen across, haiku (although I don't consider it poetry), and anything I think is worth recording for reflection or inspiration. I don't smoke. I do drink -- socially. If you can make a solid Ketal One Gimlet, I'll be the best tipper you see all night. I'm generally a nice guy; well mannered, a bit egotistical, but still a good friend and listener.
I love filmmaking (every aspect to the entire process) and I want to be the kind of filmmaker that makes people stop and think. I'd like to bring my own unique flavor to the art; something like a BBQ or Spicy Mustard (no, I don't know what that means). I set this site up to showcase some of the short films I created and as a place to network with other filmmakers, festivals, fans and friends.
You can view the Toymation films (How Superman Got His Groove Back, Poker Night, and the trailer for Hulk Smash Everybody) I made with my best-friend Mike Wytrykus over at Rabid Mongoose Productions and comment them on YouTube . I'm currently finishing up two short screenplays to shoot this winter and I'm designing a website to display my body of work and detail my future productions.

This is my film " The Love Within " that MySpace removed: Check out the rest of my short films on my YouTube Channel .
"Home Movies" ties with "Futurama" as the one of the best animated TV series ever. Check out seasons 1 - 4 of both sometime. Seriously, they're genius.
Which 'Home Movies' character are you?

My Interests

My Interests:
First and foremost, filmmaking is my passion. It's what I want to do the rest of my life. In no particular order, here are some other things I like: photography, playing chess, playing guitar, Rube Goldberg devices, Kettle One vodka, the Chicago Cubs, the Detroit Red Wings, the New York Rangers, the Chicago Bears, comic books, independent film and music, bad-ass t-shirts, hats, time travel, and political / religious discussions. I also collect vintage Mego World's Greatest Super Heroes.

My Muse:
My parents, family, friends, lovers, and alcohol are the "big five." Subversive counter-culture is also a big influence on me and my work as well as comic books, music, television and american captialism. Sex, violence, rock and roll, hip hop, fads, trends, staple ideologies, revolution, conformity, magic, bottled water, baseball, hockey, football, pizza, tacos, digital media, "Grape Crush" and "Jalapeno Crunchers" just about sum up the rest. There are volumes to be told of what inspires me, but basically anything or anyone that’s ever made me stop to think qualifies.

Influential Directors:
Quentin Tarantino, Robert Rodriguez, Kevin Smith, Larry Clark, P.T. Anderson, Paul Anderson, John Huges, Cameron Crowe, David Lynch, David Fincher, Akira Kurosawa, Danny Boyle, Martin Scorsese, Steven Soderbergh, Terry Gilliam, George Lucas, Takashi Miike, Stanley Kubrick, Sergio Leone, Clint Eastwood, Richard Donner, John Cassavetes, Francis Ford Coppola, Brian De Palma, Sidney Lumet, Sam Raimi, Steven Spielberg, Gaspar Noe, Luc Besson, Jim Jarmusch, Roger Avary, Brian Singer, Tom Tykwer, David Cronenberg, and a ton more.

So this is in no way a "Top 10 Films" of 2006, but rather a random top 10 of the films released in 2006 that I saw. It wasn't a good year for me getting out to the theater. There are quite a few on my...
