Absolutely anything written by Roald Dahl, although more specifically, The Twits.
Does The Beano count as a book?
No?
OK then.
Of Mice and Men, by John Steinbeck.
Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling.
Band Biographies, such as The Pogues biography "Pogue Mahone", and The Libertines book "Bound Together". Seriously, mind blowing. The Collected works of W.H. Auden. Siegfried Sassoon's War Poems. Ella By Uri Geller.
Shane MacGowan - The Pogues frontman, Poet and general musical prodigy - and easily one of the best Songwriter's of all time along with...
..
Steve Marriott - Frontman of the Small Faces and probably the coolest and most underrated frontman in Rock. I would've loved to have met him.
<>
Orlando Weeks - Frontman of The Maccabees. Very Cool in a very alternative way, which I one day aspire to be. Remarkable Voice, too.
<>
Peter "Spider" Stacy - Tin Whistle player in The Pogues. A truly gifted musician and also an amazingly warm and decent guy all round.
..
Richard Ayoade and Matthew Holness - creator's of the sublime Garth Marenghi's darkplace. arguably the finest television programme of our time. Its incredible.
..
James Stewart - The Best actor of all time.
Darren Anderton - An immensely underrated footballing talent. My hero during my youth.
..
Heath Ledger - I thought he was rubbish for years, until I had the pleasure of seeing him in "The Dark Knight", his performance in which single handedly re-spurred my interest and passion for acting. He was so bloody good in it, it made me feel annoyed and frustrated that he'd died. And that's saying Something.
Espen Baardsen - Notoriously underrated former Tottenham Goalkeeper, who guttingly retired before he even hit 30.
<>
Daniel Day-Lewis - easily THE greatest living actor. If you don't believe me, watch literally ANY on of his films, then you'll see what I mean.
..
Joey Bartram - bloody good rep.
..
Daniel Kitson - Quick Witted, Articulate, Charismatic with undying integrity - A Genius. but enough about me... I kid, Daniel Kitson really is all these things, and maintains the intense integrity of an authentic stand up, that a lot of great stand ups lose the minute they appear on big brother's big mouth. Painfully cool and funny.
