County in Northern New Jersey, located about 25 minutes west of New York City. County includes, Newark, Orange, East Orange and Irvington. The most crime populated county in the Dirty Jerz, possibly the whole east coast. Got the best food, best restaurants, best sports teams. So throw your hands up and rep Essex County! Located about 25 minutes(15 if you're speeding) from Times Square NYC. Possibly the most diverse county in New Jersey. With cities such as Newark, and Irvington(both canidates for the Shittiest City In America Award)and affluent suburbs such as the Caldwells(Home of the Sopranos) it truly is a diverse county. Nomatter where you are in Essex County, the "Jersey Spirit" is heard loud and clear. If you are looking for a stereotypical New Jerseyer, this is without a doubt the county to do it in. Essex County also seams to have marked their turf on the Jersey shore slum/town of Seaside Heights, and practically makes up 100% of its population a few times a year. Probably is home to some of the best food/pizza and restaurants in the entire northeast, second to that of NYC. Essex county is also the largest Italian populated county in the United States, hence it is where the term Guidos began in the late 60/70's when Italian-American men came together and formed New Jersey Organized Crime. The term was used by non-italians to decribe and denounce individuals who identified themselves as non-workers at labor/work sites by dressing extraordinarily nice. Essex County. A large county ranging from VERY rich to VERY poor. It's in close proximity to New York and has good transportation getting there which cause the taxes to be. Many feel the county is somewhat ethnically segregated in some parts. The western portion of Essex County tends to have wealthy and mainly white towns. These often include The Caldwells, Millburn, Glen Ridge,some of Upper Montclair, Short Hills, and Essex Fells, which are some of the most desirable towns in the state. Other mainly white towns that aren't as wealthy are more near the east but are considered to be still western. These towns include Nutley, Cedar Grove, and Verona which are mainly upper-middle class. On the other hand more toward the east there are towns like Irvington, East Orange, and the infamous Newark which are the least desirable towns in the state. Some towns tend to be stuck in the middle with some nice areas and some bad areas making them mixed. These include South Orange, West Orange, and Montclair. Towns that have few nice areas and are starting to go downhill include Bloomfield and Belleville.COMING SOON...
