About Me

I never know what to write in these things, sometimes I put down all the things I want people to know about me, other times I embelish the truth about me and make myself sound better than I actually am. What can I say about myself? Sometimes I don't even know myself as well as I should.

I guess the best way to get to know me better is to talk to me. Or you can go to my website The Raven Nest to read my poetry, or to my LiveJournal Page and see what I have been up to lately. If you really want to know what I'm all about I recomend reading the unfinished poem The Philosophy of a Corvus Corax /Corvidae , it might not make a whole lot of sense to you, but it's all about me trying to sort out my own mind using refrences to things that I enjoy.

My Interests

I like comics .... Well, I guess I like other stuff too. Think of me as your stereotypical geek. I like movies, reading, music, video games, musical theater, Dungeons and Dragons and spending my Friday nights at the local pub.

I'd like to meet:

Stan Lee (check), Brian Michael Bendis, Brian K Vaughan (check), Devin Grayson, Mark Millar (check) ... all amazing comic book writers.I would have liked to have met Pope John Paul before he died, Freddy Mercury, John Lennon, Christopher Reeve and Jeff Buckley.

Music:

I can't limit my music interest to a just few bands or types. I like all music as long as it makes me feel something. Recent favorites are: Red Hot Chilli Peppers, The Fray, The Postal Service, Foo Fighters, Death Cab Cutie, Coldplay, Gorillaz, The Killers (who isn't a Killers fan nowadays?), Muse, Dashboard Confessional, Modest Mouse. All time favorites: Queen, Pink Floyd, Styx, Journey, Eagles, Santana, Radiohead, Weezer, Nirvana, The Beatles, Fiona Apple, Sheryl Crow, Cranberries, Nine Inch Nails, Smashing Pumpkins, Eagles, Wallflowers, Garbage, Lamb, Led Zeppelin, Lisa Loeb, Portishead, Splashdown.

Movies:

I am a little too forgiving when it comes to movies. I love most things that I see and forgive cheesy flicks, lame jokes and bad special effects. I just keep myself open to all types of films and enjoy what I can. Learning from some, just walking away from others. Favorites: The Crow, The Usual Suspects, Garden State, Spider-Man 2, The Adventures of Baron Munchausen, Toys, Heart and Souls, Legend, Labyrinth, Dark Crystal, Princess Mononoke, Sin City, Batman Begins, Star Wars, What Dreams May Come, City of Angels, American Beauty, Heart and Souls, Pay it Forward, Sixth Sense, Prophecy, Rocky Horror, Usual Suspects, Dead Poets Society, The Breakfast Club, Seven, Halloween, Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, Dark City, Mr.Hollands Opus, Face Off, Superman: The Motion Picture, Superman Returns, Serenity

Television:

My TV time is very limited, but I love my TiVo. My current list of shows are Lost, Smallville, Scrubs, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, Jericho, Dead Zone, Monk, Nip/Tuck, Rescue Me, Saved, That 70's Show, Standoff, Heroes, Boondocks, Venture Brothers, Avatar, The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, 30 Days and most shows on Cartoon Network. Past favorites include Freaks and Geeks, Sports Night, Firefly, Dead Like Me, Teen Titans, JLU, Batman: TAS, and of course Good Times on Nick at Night! Anime favorites include Trigun (LOVE & PEACE), Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, FLCL.

Books:

Look at my bookshelf and you will see anything from JRR Tolkein, to Dean Koontz. Star Wars novels to the Vampire Chronicles. Orson Scott Card to Paul Reiser. My books, like my taste in most things, is very expansive. I try not to limit myself because I don't want to miss a thing. Authors I admire: Dean Koontz, Clive Barker, Anne Rice, John Saul, J.D. Salinger, Edgar Allan Poe, James O'Barr. Poets I admire: Greenheart, Emily Dickinson, E.E. Cummings, Dr. Suess, Shel Silverstien, Jim Caroll, Robert Frost, Allen Ginsberg, Henry Rollins, Langston Hughes

Heroes:

Spider-Man ... no seriously. He was really someone I looked up to my entire life and have based my way of living off of what I have learned in Spider-Man comics. You want to put that on a living figure, then I suppose Stan Lee is my hero. But mostly, my parents are my heroes. I think I am who I am today because I took the best part of both my parents and became who I am today.
