I'm really into programming, and love messing around with music tools. I like System of a Down, scratch that, LOVE System of a Down, I've seen them in concert TWICE, but now they are no more... sadness.
People with a decent taste for music. People into computers, science theory, or philosophy and know what they are talking about. People with a fondness for math, and an understanding of logic. People that listen to music, and can understand the difference between listening to music and hearing it.
Celldweller, System of a Down, Luxt, Immedia, MSI, Tori Amos, Green Day, Alanis Morisette, Angeldust.
The Chumscrubber, Shortbus, Rocky Horror Picture Show, any of Jim Carrey's work (except Cable Guy). It's all about the Indie films. Everytime I go to Blockbuster and pace the New Releases, I pick out a movie and go "Hey, this looks AWESOME" and then I realize... LOL it's another Independent Film. And the great thing about them is often times they are BETTER than big budget films. Don't get me wrong, "The Break-Up" was an okay movie, but Slutty Summer was about 3 billion times better and funnier. And Die, Mommy, Die! was probably better than every big budget film released the same year, except maybe Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind... oh wait, that was a year later. Pretty much any movie that makes you think, I'll end up liking.
South Park.
Not much for TV, but it doesn't stray much from Comedy Central or Adult Swim on Cartoon Network. And the only reason I'd change comedy central is if Chappelle's Show came on.
Gaimen related stuff... Or Pullman. The Sandman series and His Dark Materials have really done a lot for my mental development and video game development. Yaoi's good too. Oh, outside the realm of shear awesome fantasy, Brown's work (DaVinci Code, Digital Fortress, Deception Point, or, my personal favorite, Angels & Demons) is great too. Who cares if Dan Brown has more shit coming out of him than a septic tank, he makes his shit look like gold. And for all the crap they force feed you in High School, there were some great books: 1984, Brave New World, Out of the Silent Planet, and some very specific parts (the book as a whole sucked ass) of Frankenstein.
What defines a hero? Klay from Celldweller is someone I might regard as a hero...
he's the half naked one.
Then theres the guys that have made the world what it is today (in the entertainment industry at least) like Shigeru Miyamoto.
And for many reasons that words are just not powerful enough to describe, Sephiroth has to be one as well.
