READ REVIEWS FOR MY ALBUM 'POOR RICHARD'!
The reviews have begun for the album from various sources including internet sites and publications. So far they've all really seemed to enjoy the album. I appreciate their comments and would love to hear some of yours. Click on the small quotes from the articles below to read the entire review. That is... if you are so inclined.
"Very interesting compositions... (the music) has all the right ingredients..." - Sean Timms (Timms Tunes)
"...kind of a drama pop/lonely folk/dusty cinematic feel all in one. I really like this..." - Brampton
"Superb, what modern pop/acoustic should be!" - Never Go Back
"Original and catchy and great! A one man musical virtuoso? Dawson's vocals kick ass... the instruments are all just perfect as they play back-up and tell the story. Can't add anything else to this... (the album) is the story of a life not lived out... taking his songs from cliché to absolutely original and brilliant." - Jared Wood (Garageband.com)
VOTE FOR ME (DEVON DAWSON) ON 91.1 RADIO IN SAN DIEGO!
HERE ARE SOME FUN FACTS YOU CAN USE TO IMPRESS YOUR FRIENDS!
The album is actually done, I am just waiting to put the finishing touches on the casing it is going to come in. The great cartoonist and personal friend Andrew Tolson (www.planetforone.com) drew the nifty Ben Franklin pose cover you should hopefully be able to see in the media player, and with aegrisomnia designs helping me out, it should be done in no time.
If you're interested in obtaining the entire thing and its snazzy packaging pro bono (that means for FREE... FREEEEEE!!!!!), go ahead and drop me a line. Two even. If you cannot wait, or simply are saying, Devon, it is 2007, no one gives a shit about "actual packaging", then you can go to my homepage with the link above and download a zipped file of the entire album in mp3 form, just ready for a warm, little iPod. (You guys, very few things in life are free... this is a big deal. You take free stuff when given the chance... like the pens from career day.)
I have in fact begun to play shows in support of the album, if you're curious about when and where I will be playing, check the shows section as I try to update it as often as possible. (I tend to not put as much information as needed, so people get lost trying to go to my shows. I apologize, but think of the adventure you can have.)

Editor's Note:
Actually, right now I've been working with the band I am in, According to Phil to get some new material up and play some shows with them. So check out our myspace at www.myspace.com/accordingtophil as we should have not only some shows coming up, but also the much coveted release of that album.
If you want me to play somewhere... sure. Just let me know what the deal is and I will get back to you. (This does not include more sorority initiation parties. That was the craziest show I've ever done.)
If you have any questions in regards to virtually anything, feel free to email me. I really do try to respond to everyone and remember, there's no such thing as a stupid question. Unless it's about what happened while I played at that sorority.
Thank you all kindly for your ears and eyes and supporting hands.
