Yeah, I’m just like you, haha. So basically, I won’t go and continue this shitty bio written as, "Derek Portea grew up in the streets of Los Angeles, and by the age of 4 he moved to the quaint suburban city of West Covina...." No. I want everyone to know that I’m just a down to earth 18 year old guy and I like to create music. I play piano, saxaphone, guitar, rudimentary drums, drumset, tuba, harmonica, bass, etc. So yeah, if I added you, and you don’t know me, I’m just trying to promote my music, but rest assure, I will not spam you. I love my listeners whether they be just friends or fans. So yeah, thanks for taking the time and reading this through and listening to my music. Spread and support! Sounds Like: Because I'm heavily influenced by many different bands from all sorts of musical variations and genres, my "sound," (lol) drastically differs from song to song.

However, my latest song, "Away from this Town," has received so much attention because it is heavily influenced by emotronic and powerpop elements heard in such bands as Metro Station, one of my favorite bands.
