I have to say that overall, the bands I love are ultimately my oldest & closest friends. I could be at my lowest low and feel alone, but I can always turn to a cherished band for an unseen embrace. That music is always going to be there with unconditional love to give me in copious amounts. The fact that this kind of love is not mutual is irrelevant, what I care about is the feeling of love it warms me with. Even if "love" resources run thin, music has the ability to get the job done when need-be. When I think about death my most formidable thought is the uncertainty that there will or will not be music on the other side. I respect singers that deliver honest emotion when they unleash their lyrics, anything else is fluffy poppycock.
