Theatre. Writing, mostly plays, but poetry and prose as well. Cubs, Colts, Pacers, Boilers, and Ball State Cardinals sports. Coffee, and lots of it. Conservative politics. Jesus Christ. And teaching myself to write music.
Living:
not necessarily in that order.
Dead:
and my Inquisition period relatives...again, not necessarily in that order.
adopt your own virtual pet!I always wanted a dog named "Basement". And unlike the actual dog that lives in my house, this one doesn't crap all over. Go ahead and give him a treat...good dog.
Paul Simon (and Garfunkel), Ben Folds (Five), Harry Connick Jr., Matthew West, Guns n' Roses, Norah Jones, Jude, Punsapaya (now Dearborn), Stephen Sondheim, Chanticleer, Squirrel Nut Zippers, early John Mellencamp, John Mayer, John Legend, Adam Guettel, Jen Porter, The Real Group, Weezer, The Muppets, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr....
Each installment of The Lord of the Rings was the greatest movie ever made...you better reckanize! Schindler's List is also amazing. Swingers, Fargo, The Muppet Movie, Batman Begins, The Prestige, O Brother Where Art Thou, Fortress, Fiddler on the Roof, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Cyrano de Bergerac (with Jose Ferrer), The Naked Gun, Meet the Parents, Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, The Usual Suspects, The Sixth Sense, Saw, Signs, Behind Enemy Lines...they're all good. And there still isn't one romantic comedy that has surpassed When Harry Met Sally...even after all these years.
Final seasons of The Shield and Scrubs this year. Sad. Prison Break, 30 Rock, and The Office are going strong. Check out Back to You, Kid Nation, Kitchen Nightmares and Carpoolers, if you haven't yet. Reruns of Seinfeld and Frasier are still funny. And be inspired by Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, and America's Most Wanted.
Any collection of stories by P.G. Wodehouse, The Human Touch and Headlong, both by (Brother) Michael Frayn, America by John Stewart et al, Rush Limbaugh's two books, The Lord of the Rings, Audition by Michael Shurtleff, many of James Thurber's works, and The Holy Bible.
Anyone who volunteered for our Armed Forces, who is currently serving or has served honorably in the past. My Dad and my Mom, who raised over 10 kids, including my four cousins and my brother's friend, on a shoestring budget. Brother Gil Bloom, who is one of the underappreciated humorists of our time. Paul Lichy, who is one of the most generous people I've ever known. Rush Limbaugh, who can admit his flaws and recognize what is wrong and right. Matthew West, who has overcome severe injury to live out his dreams and inspire me constantly. Ryan Woodle, who's living my dream in New York City. Jesus Christ, of course. And anyone who unselfishly puts the lives and safety of others before their own without complaint or expectation.
