I would be hard pressed to think of a specific genre of music that doesn't have at least one good example(yes, that means that I like some country.) most of the music I listen to is either industrial or electronic, but my tastes are certainly not limited to that. A few favorite bands or artists: Dir en Grey,The Cramps, The discocks, Nitzer Ebb, Aphex Twin, combichrist, Kraftwerk, Feindflug, dj Dara,Suicide Commando, T-Rex, Amon Tobin, The Clash, KMFDM, Devo, PiL, Steve Earle, dj? Accucrack, Rancid, Front 242, Frontline assembly, Dioxide, Bjork, Immortal technique, Johnny Cash, Alien Sex Fiend, The Cruxshadows, Rip Slyme, Talking Heads, The Doors, Talib Kwali, AK1200, Rammstein, John B, David Bowie, Dead can Dance, MSI, anything having to do with Oghr... blah, blah, blah continue ad nauseam. Beyond that anything that either has meaningful or insightful lyrics, A fast and heavy drum beat, or is original enough to catch my ear on a first listen will do me just fine.
I watch entirely too much television.
The Way of Zen by Allen West, the original "Dune" series(not the novels written by Frank Herberts son, those were utter crap) Anything by Irvine Welsh, Dostoyevsky , Nietzsche, Harlan Ellison, Vonnegut, Kerouac, George R.R. Martin, Larry Niven, Heinlein, H.P. Lovecraft, Ayn Rand and just for the record I can't stand Stephen King or Shakespeare.
Grigori rasputin, Usagi Yojimbo, Hunter Thompson and don't let's forget "GODZILLA!!
