I am here for Dating, Serious Relationships and Friends

About Me

A taoist and seeker of deeper spiritual mysteries of the mind, body, and spirit. I enjoy the simple, uncomplicated, and non-dramatic side of life. Drama of stage and movie are great. Drama for attention is not. That said, I enjoy a good debate and mixing of knowledge and perspective. I find the humor in all things, regardless of circumstances. Laughter I've found is the best defense against nearly everything. I'm something of a geek, who also can drink four pints of guiness as an appetizer. Ex-photographer, now a massage therapist and soft tissue specialist, ie deep tissue, trigger point and myofacial release work. Working towards a chiro degree. I tend to speak bluntly, so ask for my opinion at your own risk. Sarcasm and Irony are optional extras.

My Interests

Wide and varied. I'm a grab-bag of knowledge. Amature/scratch writer. Camping. Minor computer geek. I'm an RPG addict of many years with no signs of recovery. Gaming in general. Also of japanimation and AMV. Non-fluffy people, open-minded folk, and free thinkers.

I'd like to meet:

People who enjoy life. Those who understand the distinction between trivial and important. Nothing is better than a friend who laughs at the trivialities of life. If a friend can laugh during the worst of times, as during the best of times, that is a special person in my life.AIM - tanninmagic YahooIM - tanninmagichands Gtalk - tannin1138

Music:

Paul Oakenfold, Santana, Dreamtribe, Dire Straits, Enigma, AC-DC, Yanni, some jazz/blues, Spoonfed Tribe, The Eagles, Sting, U2, Most anything Trance/Techno/Industrial, Pink Floyd, Mozart, Stevie Nicks, Hearts of Space/space music, Peter Gabriel, The Rouges, Evanescence, Ceili's Muse, Clandestine, 80's junkie, Fleetwood Mac, Gaelic Storm, Glen Miller, Loreena McKennitt, Mickey Hart, Clannad, Enigma, Sting, anything well written, scored, and played

Movies:

Eclectic in my choice of movies. Foreign to domestic, big-budget to indi-films. Films that make one laugh, cry, think or all three at once. Noir classics to X3. Star Wars, 13th Warrior, Usual Suspects, Jaws, the Lion in Winter, Big Trouble, Yojimbo, MASH, Addams Family, Once Upon A Time In The West, Chronicles of Riddick, Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead

Television:

I avoid watching too much tv. The news, Countdown w/Keith Olbermann, Heroes, Mythbusters, BSG, plus a few more. On DVD, Battlestar Galactica, Firefly, Buffy, the West Wing.

Books:

Anything written well. If the book opens the mind and spirit, I'll read it. Informative and entertaining novels are a plus. Histories and alt, World War Z. Classical liturature, Shakespeare and Ellis Peters. Nearly anything on Taoism. Sci/Fi and fantasy equal mental mind candy, a way to wind down. Thieves' World, Terry Pratchett's Discworld series, Gordon Dickson, Mercedes Lackey.

Heroes:

Good Folk. The world doesn't have enough folk who do good just because its the thing to do.
