music has been a part of illuminates life since birth. he was a big fan of all types of music in his youth but found something that slowly began to draw him into hip hop as he approached his teens. he began to constantly bother his friends for tapes cds videoas magazines basically anything to quench his thirst for knowledge in terms of what hip hop really was all about. at 13 he began to write verses as a hobby and found a group of peole who were on similar ground in terms of musical interets around his high school. this was the brith of the group now known as chikwata they performed and wrote together at school for a few years but due to various situations a number of the group fell away. illuminate and mac were the two remaining members and they share a feindship which goes beyond the music but is similar intrests and a perspective on life. as a solo artist illuminate has worked with a number of groups in zimbabwe south africa and canada and has plans to expand his work to reach such areas as france and england . the chikwata album is under works and will be released in 2007
