Born in Sacremento CA, and the son of a drywall contractor. JR's dad had to move where the work was, he has lived in Arizona, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and now hangs his hat in Missouri. Blessed with two children and a loving wife his greatest joy is to hang out with them. JR has been influenced by several different genres of music including rock, blues, and of course country music. In 1997 his song "Don't Tell Me Goodbye" received acclaim in a Nashville songwriting contest promoted by TNN. The song won a spot in the top 50 out of 10,000 songs received nation wide. JR writes songs about life, family, and his deep seeded faith in Jesus Christ.
