About Me

I am an outgoing, friendly, caring and determined person. I'm passionate and sometimes let my emotions get the best of me and then have to remember to focus on the bigger picture. I'm flirtatious, inquisitive, restless and observant. I'm dependable, though often quite tardy. Sometimes I'm the quiet listener; sometimes I talk so much that I put my foot in my mouth. I have stood naked on the top of a mountain and yelled my name into the wind! Boredom = Death. I have been called hard-headed and rigid. I mean no harm! I've also been called conscientious and intelligent. I will never turn away a person in need (even if they have sworn to be my mortal enemy) and many a stray animal has found a home with me. I have been told that I give very nice hugs. I believe this to be true. :) I'm probably a workaholic and some other sorts of "holic" as well. I believe that one person can make a difference. I believe that several of us can make an even bigger difference. Dedicated to my work and my causes, I don't take kindly to injustice. I am a socialist and a feminist.

My Interests

Music, singing, dancing, drinking & eating, having a merry time, communal living, martial arts, reading, life-long-learning, language, socialism, feminism, art, psychology, history, science, cultural studies, travel, community service, volunteerism, theatre, Indian food, indulgence, learning new things, jobs well-done, passionate people, Ms. Pac-Man/Galaga arcade games, Night-Blooming Jasmine, sleeping late in a cold, dark room while it's raining outside, spoiling people I love, enjoying life. I'd like to meet:

Always a busy bee, I am rarely at home for more than a couple of hours unless I'm sleeping or hosting a party. Don't expect me to respond to most of my e-mails because you'll be waiting for a very long time. My plate is full and I have a few good friends and a large family to keep me company, so I am really not here to meet new people. However, I might not mind finding activist groups to work with. Not all of my friends share my views, so it might be nice to find myself amidst others that see the need for large scale social change. I keep an active social life so there is never a shortage of new faces, but I find these days that I prefer quality over quantity.

For the New Year

A new year, a clean slate.  This yearly mark of change reminds me to put the past to rest, moving forward rather than living in the past.  By no means does this negate what has been!  M...
