About Me

I'm a 31 year old girl, married to the love of my life. We live in Chicago with our two dogs (R.I.P. baby lizard and scorpion) and skink Richard. We live a quiet life, but it's a good one. We're very fortunate to have what we have, so I have no complaints.
My favorite day is Friday, and I LOVE holidays. It means I'm not at work. I've been working the same job for 7 years, and it's getting old. BUT I'm still thankful for it. It means I get a paycheck every two weeks, so I can't complain.
So, in this space, MY space, I'l probably talk about my husband, our pets, my crazy in laws whom I love, and who so happen to be my neighbors (think: Everybody Loves Raymond), my family and various oddities of life. In July of this year I had weight loss surgery (it's called LAP-band- not gastric bypass), and I'll probably post things about that, weight loss, etc.
So welcome. If I haven't bored you to tears, please feel free to come back anytime.

My Interests

I'm obsessed with the 40's and would LOVE to have lived in that era. Veronica Lake or Betty Grable are two of the most beautiful women that ever lived!

I love music. In fact, I have almost a thousand songs on my iPod (which is another hobby entirely...collecting songs). I also love the theater. I was really involved in high school and a little in college, and I really want to get back into it. I also wouldn't mind doing some modeling in the future. But we'll see about that.

I love watching movies, and just hanging out and spending time with my husband. I also love bike riding. My husband and I live in Chicago, and close enough to ride our bikes to Lake Michigan. It's about a 14 mile round trip, but it's a lot of fun. We usually take his wacky brother along for the ride.

My husband introduced me to the love of classic cars, especially muscle cars. He's got a 1968 Chevelle Malibu, red with black top and black interior.

We go to car shows throughout the year, and have attended the Chicago Auto Show every year since we met. But I enjoy the classic car shows more. My dream car is a 1959 Corvette, either black with light pink accents and interior...or light pink with off white accents ane interior. Here is one in red...which I'd take too! Lol.

I'd like to meet:

I would love the opportunity to meet my maternal grandmother. She died when I was 2 weeks old, and I would have loved to get to know her.Just a few "celebs" I wouldn't mind meeting: Kristin Chenoweth, Idina Menzel, Gwen Stefani, George Clooney, JOHNNY DEPP (ahem). Just to name a few. I"m not sure what I would say. I've never been good around so-called 'celebs'. I end up saying or doing something stupid and kicking myself all the way home. Lol.I've met a few people in my time (including celebs), and I have yet to meet a perfect person. Although, if I ever had that chance I'd probably be intimidated....so forget it.

Music:

All different kinds, actually. Just an example of what's on my iPod...Michael Buble, Wicked sountrack, Phantom soundtrack, Def Leppard Greatest Hits, Keith Urban, Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Destiny's Child, Alison Krauss, Gwen Stefani...and the list goes on and on.

Movies:

While You Were Sleeping, You've Got Mail, Princess Bride, Finding Neverland, Blues Brothers, Bullet, The Good, THe Bad and the Ugly, and the list goes on and on and on....

Television:

I don't watch much tv, but I can be your average reality tv marathon junkie on the weekends. Sometimes it takes a crowbar to part me from the sofa, those shows are so addictive!
