BIOGRAPHY:The February’s five band members are strewn about the living room of a sparse, first floor apartment with their shoes kicked off, relaxing on the couch. Beyond them lies a network of mic cables, guitar amps, and drum sticks. The TV is on, and the laughter is contagious. It’s evident that the band’s music is as lively as its members.
The February is an ideal college rock band, full of fun, entertainment, catchy tunes, and enthusiastic musicians. It began with lead vocalist Brady Clark and guitarist Liam Farrell jamming in dorm rooms during their freshman year. It was not until the summer of 2005, over a well-packed hookah, that the three other members decided to join the bandwagon. Ryan Raichilson plays the drums, Liz Pesnel jams on the bass, and Dan Herrick plays rhythm guitar.
Ever since then it has been musical bliss for The February. After experimenting with electronic music, the band decided to unplug the guitars and go acoustic. They write all their own material, finding inspiration in everyday college life. Generally, The February falls under the indie/punk-rock spectrum, yet the band has its own unique style. Its fan base is a diverse group: college friends, music lovers, 16-year-old girls, their moms…the music is for everyone. With its cumulative experience and success, the band continues to grow and reach new heights. This past year The February were signed to Marshall Street Records and will be coming out with a new CD this February—appropriate, no?-- By Bette Miller
