Check out the Sini-Gang podcast. Some really cool Filipino friends of mine live in Virginia Beach, VA and post a weekly podcast about what it's like to be a Filipino in Virginia Beach. If you're Filipino, a lot of what they say will hit home.
People with the stones to try something different. Take sushi for example. The ignorant will say yuck without even thinking about it. But if you ask them if they've ever eaten crab, avocado, or rice - to that they will say YES. It's called a California Roll (the most popular form of sushi ordered in the US). Package it like this and they turn their nose up. Ignorance. Your ignorance is my BLISS. More for me.
I'm a child of the 80's. Most of the music I like is from that era: Baltimora, Opus, Blue Clocks Green, R.E.M., Elvis Costello, Joe Jackson, Nick Lowe, Pet Shop Boys, Erasure, The Cure, etc. My second favorite era would be the 90's: They Might Be Giants, Barenaked Ladies, 10,000 Maniacs, etc. I've done a lot of DJing over the years so I've become quite varied and flexible in my listening tastes. A fun band that I found online - Hermes House Band. They play some really rockin' covers of some classics that you can't help but tap your feet to. These days, I'll pretty much listen to anything except for metal or hardcore rap. If you ever get into podsafe music, check out Brother Love, they are an awesome band.
Favorite quotes:
(1) My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die! (Mandy Patinkin from The Princess Bride)
(2) Define irony: a bunch of idiots dancing on a plane to a song made famous by a band that died in a plane crash. (Steve Buscemi as Garland Greene; Conair)
The Unit, 24, The West Wing, Battlestar Galactica, Call For Help, Without A Trace, CSI: all three, Stargate: SG-1 & Atlantis, Doctor Who, American Chopper, and MythBusters.
I love my Dish PVR and Samsung DVD burner! I still haven't gotten caught up on all of my shows...lol
