DJ PCUTTAwas born on May 22, 1975 in Washington DC. He then later moved to Camden NJ where he grew up and was influenced by the styles and music of artists such as: Jazzy Jeff, Kool-C, Steady-B, Tat Money & many more.
Upon being accepted to Howard University in the Spring of 1993 he then moved back to DC. It was here where his drive and passion for hip-hop started. A student by day and a barber by night he quickly became a part of DCs Underground hip-hop scene and was given the name P-Cutta.
P-Cutta wanted to create a means to use his interest in hip-hop and battling, as well as make a name for himself and promote the culture. With vision and determination P-Cutta and fellow friends founded Rooftop Entertainment in the winter of 1993. P-Cutta then presented his own hip-hop talent and skills to Washington, DCs club scene. In 1996 he began distributing mixtape sounds of various artists in Washington, DC and the surrounding areas on a regular basis.
In the winter of 1998 P-Cutta was introduced to another young entrepreneur by the name of Justice, Founder of 730 Entertainment. The two quickly formed an alliance and began to work on P-Cuttas own projects. They continuously sought ideas and techniques that could be used to market and promote their projects. The P-Cutta Presents: Street Wars Vol. 1 project was released in August of 2001 and independently promoted thousands of units. The teams first project was a success! After the success Rooftop Entertainmet began to release a number of projects which led to working with major artist including: Cormega, Diplomats, Raekwon, Musiq, Faith Evans, Nicole Ray, Project Pat, Young Jeezy, Yung Joc etc... and the list goes on!!
