Indestroy was a Maryland based punk influenced thrash metal band that was formed in 1983 by Mark Strassburg. They were named after a song by the local doom metal band The Obsessed. They performed a savage brand of thrash bordering on death metal.Indestroy worked their way toward a 1986 demo and, by the release of their eponymous debut album through New Renaissance Records the following year, consisted of vocalist/guitarist Mark Strassburg, bassist Jeff Parsons, guitarist Drew Adrian, and drummer Gus Basilika. The latter pair had been replaced by Shawn Williams (guitar) and one Rob "Cougin" Brannigan (drums) come Indestroy's next release, 1989's Senseless Theories EP, but this did little to popularize the band, which broke up a short time later. Indestroy performed a savage brand of thrash bordering on death metal.
