Mission StatementTeam 13 fitness is a goal oriented company. We are determined to change the lives of our clients one at a time through a program based around hard work and fun. We would like to challenge the youth of America to be more fit and active, and want to promote a healthy lifestyle to everyone we encounter. Unfortunately our country is plagued with childhood obesity, and if we don't take care of our country's children now then they will suffer with age. Obesity can be a silent killer. Some problems stemming from obesity include high blood pressure, sleep apnea, heart disease, and type II diabetes just to name a few. It is heart breaking to see a child who shuts himself/herself in from the world, afraid of the ridicule and abuse they will receive from the outside world. If a child or young adult is taught the healthy lifestyle that includes exercise and nutrition then they are set up for success down the road in life. Exercise and nutrition teach discipline and force you to set goals for yourself. This can be extremely rewarding, and once they see improvements it takes on a life of its own.Another problem with our youth concerns our young athletes. young athletes work hard to find success in modern athletics. Competition is at an all time high and kids are specializing in sports at younger ages every year. Athletes and coaches understand now that strength and conditioning play a large role in success of both the athlete and the team, and many are working towards becoming bigger/faster/stronger. Misguidance and poor coaching are rampant and young athletes are turning to the wrong sources for tutelage. Now you're even finding athletes looking for an edge turning to the world of drugs and anabolic steroids to get that elusive touchdown, a much need scholarship, or the feeling of belonging. What these two groups need is proper guidance and motivation to build skills and confidence. Telling a child to go work out and teaching him how to "train" are two different things. Working out is not effective, leave a child alone in a gym and you will find him wandering around aimlessly "playing" with the equipment and not accomplishing much at all. It takes a maturity level that isn't always present to figure out a program and to stick to it, and most, if not all, of our youth are not qualified to teach themselves proper technique and protocol.Training is much different. Training immediately brings direction and goals. Teams trained together and are coached, whether it is your football team or a group of ten strangers, you are a team working towards an outcome. This will provide the necessary direction and instruction that brings success. We at Team 13 Fitness are committed and dedicated to educating people of all ages about health and fitness. We are a team of trainers that have worked with every kind of individuals from young to old, big and small, and even college and professional athletes.Every trainer is constantly trying to stay on top of all the newest information and ideas in the industry, which is why we are cut above the rest. We are committed to our own education as trainers and take pride in our work. Our work is not without hurdles. we would like to expand or reach and have begun building a website as a platform to launch our business. This website will include but is not limited to, biographies, testimonials, pictures, instructional videos, forums, articles and a store to purchase equipment/apparel/supplements. Online we will provide workout programs and diet plans for individuals and groups, along with contact information so we can train clients one on one or in groups. We are steadily acquiring pieces of equipment and working out of Ultimate Fitness East in Riverhead, New York. This process is slow but we are building up a set of equipment to test and train clients to our parameters.
