Refer to the "About me" heading, for starters. In addition, I like the night. Restaurants, that are bold; that have identityand confidence in their fare are at the top of my list. Weekend mornings, with strong coffee, and a fresh paper, that I can rummage through, sitting in my shorts, with a fresh smoke and a proper breakfast in the offing, as the sun gradually makes its presence known. Having ingested my breakfast, the coffee, the smoke and the paper, I can then yawn, stretch, and return to the horizontal, knowing that my sheets are cold and crisp, once more. I enjoy days that I have the liberty of cancelling, due to lack of interest, should I so choose. Otherwise, a day of leisure, and selected effort to create a memory or two. I enjoy the performing arts, from both the participative, and spectative vantages, although the former as opposed to the latter. Why?--- The energy received, for one, and two, the oppurtunity to express, release, and deliver that which is inside and otherwise difficult, is more available. Thus, in a strange way, more of myself is available. The exchange, indeed the intercourse of energy, that occurs here, is for me, monumental in maintaining my sanity, and at its best, surpasses mediocre sex. I like ice cold milk, golf, gin rummy, and whimsy. I am horribly inept at anything pertaining to technology, or mathmatics. I frown upon gardening. When it comes to anything mechanical or botanical, this is my adage: if it is mechanical I will probably break it, and if it is botanical I will probably kill it. Disorganization is probably one of my strongest suits. Speaking of which, I miss not being able to wear tweeds in Florida. I do not cotton to tuxedos with neckties; bow ties only, and one should be required to tie the damn thing himself! No clip-ons. Just a thought. I love the ocean, salt air, and flip-flops. Being near the beach makes it O.K. to have sand in your shoes and on your floor. Having grown up with sports, in general and football in particular, I am a fairly rabid fan, of the Washington Redskins, Virginia, ond on the secondary plane, the Packers, and the Steelers. Sorry South Florida, but you will usually see me pulling vehemently against the Dolphins, Hurricanes, Seminoles and Gators. It just is. I am a Yankees fan, and strangely enough, when the Bombers aren't in it, I like the Red Sox. I am not a fan of the National League. I get a little disenchanted with sports however with all of the trash talking, in your face, ME_ME_ME taunting crap that goes on, and the corresponding lack of sportsmanship and revrance for the games and their traditions. That is enough for now.... Anything else just ask..........................................
any one of a wide range of sharp, witty, charming, enchanting, marvelous women (primarily) and anyone else of varying ages and talents, and experiences. A woman who is unafraid, discriminating, who can appreciate my ups and downs; faults and assets, with an encouraging hand, and a wink in her eye. Those eyes (along with the rest of her), must be drop dead, be at once engaging, and full of depth, in short better looking than me. She must be willing and able to explore the possibilities, with a grain of salt, an intriguing sense of humor, and a little moxie. A person is unafraid of herself, able to appreciate the melancholy as well as the joyous for what they are. One who doesn't try to change the mold but adapt and fit within, and can expect the same from me; who realizes it is the stream of imperfections that make those oh so rare and fleeting perfect moments, cherishable.
I am a lover of anything that has melody, rhythm and conscious effort in its production. Rap, industrial, and other likewise monotonous drones are the pits. Of all the labels they can be given, music and art are not amaong them. Radical politics, violence and troglodytic filth are not fundamental requirements to be considered art. Neither is poor taste. Music must aspire and inspire, have limitless creativity, and improvisational qualities, while springing from a disciplined seed. I am a singer of jazz blues, showtunes, but iI do so with an edge. I like edge. My musical heros are many. Pavarotti, Andrea Bocelli, Ray Charles, Sinatra, Crosby Stills Nash and Young, Dave Matthews, Diana Krall, Ellington, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Carmen Macrae, Monte Alexander, Dr. John, George Jones, Ernest Tubb, John Prine, Earth Wind and Fire, The Temptations, Aaron Copeland, Gershwin, The American Songbook, Bernstein, Ravel, Debussy, Rachmaninov, Oscar Peterson, Fats Waller and on and on. The swing, the hurt. the romance, the fun, the spontaneity, the melancholy, the art, but leave the politics for the other venues.
