here's stuff I find interesting, in no particular order.. neurology, evolution, string theory (or whatever is going to replace it in 2008 when that particle accelerator finds or doesn't find supersymmettry) reletavity, cosmology. Comic books.. (big surprise right....) chomskyan linguistics.. I'm not saying any of this to sound smart, i also think that anything interesting about the world can be understood by anyone without having to resort to big words that only people who paid through the nose to go to college use..I also believe that human nature is what it is because of 2 million years of darwinism, not because of capitalism. also I think that anarchy is kind of turning into a religion but I'm ok with that because I'm not that observant. I also don't believe that people have souls, and that this life is really all we get and thats it. also the gift economy instead of capitalism.things I don't really find that interesting- western philosophy. hippie mysticism. reasons why you're vegan. fluffy bullshit about quantum physics proving that everything is connected. reasons why what you choose to buy/ not buy are going to save the world from the next 200 years of global warming. shittalking. being superpositive about everything. why I have no right to have an opinion on things because I'm straight, white and male. wrong. I do. sorry. oh, yeah, really big one: being self hating about myspace./ being a student/from the suburbs/ middle class/ not living your life to the fullest- don't apologize for yourself take responsibility for your life and drop the fuck out of college. or go to college. whatever! )- oh yeah, myspace... wow rupert murdoch owns it- guess what, the guy who owns the telephone company is also a jerk. who cares? really? can we never waste oxygen on that conversation ever again-?
heres how to find me. come to the alibi on a saturday night and look for the kid running around like a caffinated maniac grabbing empty glasses, or come by freddys on a tuesday or a friday before 8pm and I'll be there. freddys is in downtown brooklyn, the alibis on dekalb and vanderbilt. If its monday I'll be at the hangar bar around 10 til about 1 or so (3rd street between b and c) or if its tuesday I'll be at the sauna which you'll have to find yourself, till about 1.30 in the morning.wednesdays and thursdays are my weekend so I'm usually doing very little, maybe watching a movie or reading.
lots of obvious stuff. also I like vladimir horowitz, debussy and I go see the free organ at grace church play bach fugues whenever I can (its 12.30 tu- friday 10 thstreet and bway). Sometimes Bach is more metal then most metal its really wierd. classical western music rules. just getting into it. I also really love screeching weasel the first two green day albums and belle and sebastian. and rudimentary peni 'the eps of rp' is the best punk album ever created.
that movie brick was really good.. also the 7up series. I don't like overly whimisical movies. amelie is about as far as I go. lots of stuff but I can't really think of anything right now... pan's labarynth I just saw that, it was good and I didn't even sneak in to it...
sex in the city my so called life... the simpsons.. I'm staying away from the new breed of TV (LOST, etc..) cause that shit is addictive. (of course so is the internet but thats a harder one to kick..) when we said 'smash your TV' back in the day, it wasn't because the shows weren't good, it was cause TV is fucking Evil! still is..
here's what I have out from the library Y the descent of man, I killed (comedians on the road), in virconium (science fiction). people's history of science, a beautiful math, (game theory, dancing in the streets (barbara ehrenreich), Unhooked, and a bunch of other stuff.
my parents are pretty cool. (can you say that?)also- wilhelm reich, sundiata acoli, assata shakur, robert anton wilson. other people too who I'll remember later. rod coranado. EO wilson.
