Transcending Barriers—A Model’s Beginnings- As a graduate from Albertus Magnus College with a BA in Social Work, Trisha Miller was recruited as a model by Pbdolla Entertainment, an independent record label that sponsors various musical and networking events in Connecticut and surrounding areas. In the infancy of her career, Miller is determined to transform the modeling world with her not so “typical” look. She is choosing to alter the rigid standards of American Beauty: “There are many models in the industry that are very skinny. I believe that my curvaceous figure is what makes me different from other models in the industry. I have decided to not allow the ‘ideal’ model look deter me from pursuing my dream.” By providing an alternate aesthetic, she is portraying a confidence and manner of self-determination that everyone wishes to exude simply through her work as a model. Despite being busy trying to transcend the walls of the modeling industry, she also finds time to help out her community as a Therapeutic Counselor, Providing services for children with Behavioral Problems and Mental Illnesses. When asked what she expected or hoped to be doing in two years in relations to her modeling career, she declared that she hoped to venture into the movie industry and test her talents as an actress in some upcoming films.
