Larry Nath’s debut CD, Live It! is now available on Bonedog Records . Singer –Songwriter Nath delivers a powerful collection of original music that digs deep into the American musical landscape. Containing songs of hope and redemption as well as heartache and escape, Live It! is an album that delivers a unique, and yet in some ways comfortingly familiar, listening experience.
The album is a collection of all original music with eight songs penned by Larry, and three new compositions by acclaimed songwriter Mike Sweeney (Billy Price, Bobby Wayne, Hoodoo Drugstore, etc). The songs here reflect a lifetime of influences, and exude a lyrical and musical honesty rarely found in today’s mass-market music. There is a “roots rock” feel to the album as the songs emote images of a time when blues, folk, soul, and rock all blended into a cohesive whole. The musicianship on the album has a unified feel as well (Jimmy Britton - keyboards, Mighty Lil' Johnson - bass, Jim Relja - guitars, and Brandon Barnes - drums) – a band playing together for the sake of bringing these songs to life, and not just for the promotion of their own self-interests. The playing is tasteful and honest, and compliments Larry’s down to earth songwriting and vocal stylings
Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Larry Nath has been entertaining audiences in and around the Pittsburgh area for over twenty years. After successful stints in many area bands, a seminal moment in his career came with The Mohicans, a blues band formed with guitarist (and Bonedog label-mate) Jimmy Adler . Over the next five years, the Mohicans gained notoriety and a steady following of loyal fans performing regularly at many area venues including Pittsburgh’s fabled nightclub, “The Decade” in the city’s Oakland section. Although the band dissolved in the mid-nineties and both Nath and Adler have established themselves as successful solo artists, their partnership continues to this day as the two perform occasionally as an acoustic/electric duo. It is therefore no surprise that Adler lends his guitar talents to three songs on Live It!
Larry Nath’s style has evolved into a blend of blues, soul, folk, and roots-based rock and roll, and he has proven himself to be a dynamic and versatile live performer. In the classic troubadour manner, he often plays solo acoustic shows accompanying himself on guitar and harmonica.
Most recently, Larry has gained both attention and accolades as a songwriter. His compositions are simple and honest, reflecting his philosophy that, “if you want to write good songs, simply tell the truth.” Larry Nath’s Live It! is a testament to that philosophy, with songs that speak to the triumphs and failures, heartaches and joys, and the twists and turns of fate that make up the odyssey of our lives.
Larry Nath's Live It! is a rocking Americana Blues album that you are sure to find one of the year's best.

"This CD possesses a solid delivery of blues, rock, folk, ballads. I wouldn't be surprised if Nath ended up being the next John Hiatt songwriter kind of guy. I've played a few gigs with Larry Nath; always great fun, always plenty of room for folks to groove."

“Pittsburgh's own Larry Nath is a hard-hittin' Bluesman with a flair for American and John Mellencamp-like Rock. In fact, the Artist Formerly Known As Johnny Cougar would do well to pen a tune like Nath's Without You...stomping houserockers [are] "BoneDog Blues" and the raucous title cut – two of eight Nath originals. Real mainstream appeal here.”
