I was born in a family with a broad musical tradition. As a student of the renowned pedagogue Herman Krebbers, I graduated with highest distinction from the "Sweelinck Conservatorium Amsterdam". Thereafter I studied in Tel Aviv (Israel) with Professor Chaim Taub.Wouter has won prizes in several national and international competitions and performs regularly as a soloist with orchestras throughout the Netherlands and abroad (a.o. The Academy of St. Martin in the Fields, The Munchener Kammer Orchester, The Philharmonie Antwerpen and The Brabants Orchestra). He performed in many countries: Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Israel, Spain, China, Japan, Singapore, India and the United States. However,my main musical interest and passion lies in the field of the chamber music. Together with my brother Marc Vossen (cello) and Bart van de Roer (piano) I established in 1995 the Storioni Trio Amsterdam, named after my beautiful Storioni violin. Right from the beginning, the career of the trio took off. It was awarded several prices, made tours of the Far East, the Middle East and Europe and made their American debut. The Trio performed in most major concert halls, including Carnegie Hall, Wigmore Hall, Theatre du Chatelet and the Amsterdam Concertgebouw.Since 1998, I've been first concertmaster of the Brabants Orchestra from Eindhoven, it's chief-conductor is Alan Buribayev. I am also a professor at the Fontys Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Tilburg.I'm currently playing a rare violin made by Laorentius Storioni (fecit Cremona 1794) and a violin bow by Dominic Peccatte, lent to me for life by the Elise Mathilde Foundation.Check out www.storionifestival.com
