Barnaby Briggs started playing the bass when he was 14 and trumpet a few years earlier. He has taken lessons from Peter Gray, Craig Newman and Brett Hirst on bass and Ken Gardner, John Kellaway and Scott Tinkler on trumpet. He has performed and toured with Afro Moses, Russell Morris, Brian Cadd, Turnaround, Andy Firth Big Band, Australian Army Band Newcastle, The Briggs Trio, Paul Mcnamara, Nick Cecire, cover band Studio Four and Lachlan Evans Quartet to name a few. Barnaby has a passion for jazz and enjoys composing his own material. He has completed an advanced diploma in jazz/contemporary music performance at NMIT in Melbourne and was joint winner of The Dungeon Jazz Competition 08. Barnaby is now running his own band playing both standards and originals.
