It's Tough I Tell Ya

Born and raised in nearly the heart of Amish Country. Parkesburg, Pennsylvania - the glorious town of oh say 4000-5000 people, which has slowly started to slip away because of corporate america and the building of shopping malls and what not (bye bye mom and pop stores). Escape is what I tried to do, left behind everything I loved and enjoyed as a kid, to try and do bigger and better things and 7 years after first trying to escape, I find myself right back in the same room I grew up in.
How do you change this? Beats me!? I suppose one day I will be given a chance to get to where I want, but its going to take a lot of work, which I kind of thought I had already started, but obviously its a tough market out there.
Do I sound like I'm complaining? It is not so much of a complaint but a rant to say I am going to make it and I truly just need that one break and whoever gives me that one break will clearly be a pushed to the front. My efforts will be relentless.
What drives me? Knowing that my past will build my future for the most part. Knowing that my experiences have benefitted me and are not being utilized to the best of my abilities at the current moment. What drives me? Basketball drives me. Who knew the short kid on the end of the bench with the big heart would grow 10" in 2 years and actually develop a stronger passion for a sport he spent many hours working on in his driveway only to be hampered by height and lack of quickness. lol.
Think before you do things. The decisions you make today will most definitely effect the rest of your life. One mistake can't ruin your life, but it can set you back. Take it from someone who went through that since September 30th.
My current efforts are as follows:
Emailing every coach that has been hired and will be hired as a Head Coach in a Men's and Women's Program at the Division I level. Attached to the email is my resume and cover letter, which I feel to be fairly strong.
Its tough to get experience when you can't get a chance, especially when you went to school 6 years to obtain these goals and now are $50,000 in debt.
Try and plan your future and don't give up on the dreams and goals that you have in mind. Be organized and have a plan, but also have a Plan B and possibly a plan C because it may take you quite a few tries in order to acheive your dream
