SHOOTING THE MOON - NEW CD OUT NOW - MAY 2008

About Me

When 19-year-old Mark Fry recorded his debut album DREAMING WITH ALICE for RCA in Italy in 1972 he little imagined that it would resurface three decades later as a sought-after cult recording, favourably compared to Donovan and the Incredible String Band, frequently bootlegged and described by The Unbroken Circle as a "defining masterpiece" of psychedelic folk. The long-awaited Sunbeam Records reissue in 2006 confirmed its status as an underground classic, and prompted Mark to return to the studio to record SHOOTING THE MOON, his first album in 35 years.

Sounds Like: "A very well-produced, mellow gem... bluesy, jazzy and folky at the same time, with mandolins, acoustic guitars and smoky, sultry late-night saxophones backing up Fry's wise and seasoned voice... Great album."
www.lefthip.com"A late-night delight to be taken with heartache and whisky 'n' ice."
www.subba-cultcha.com"Distinguished by a pared-back sound, a pleasingly elegiac mood that is sustained throughout, and a handful of top-drawer tunes."
www.totalmusicmagazine.com"Beautifully produced with a sonorous, mellow tone... the songs mostly glow gently in their after-hours setting."
www.leicesterbangs.co.uk"Fry hasn't lost his utterly unique and somewhat disquieting vision. For fans of eerie singer-songwriters everywhere."
