* I don’t know where to start so I will just start from the beginning and hopefully you can catch up. I’m From Hartford, Ct. I grew up as a preacher Kid all my young adult life under the direction of first Pastor Webb and cornerstone and then I was singing in the children choir at Holy Trinity church under Elder Hubert Powell Sr. after awhile my parents decided that we should join Christ temple COGIC under the totaling of Dr. J.C. Haynes where we stayed almost for 20 yrs then that’s when my life took a drastic change for the worse. In a three year time span from 1998 to 2004 I lost my first child at birth and them my best friend died. I lost my grandfather and then the following month I lost to me the biggest person in my life beside my father I lost my grandmother, and when I lost her I had no reason to keep living I tried to end my life. I even cursed God; I turned my back on God. I asked him How can you do this to me when I‘ve done nothing to deserve this. Then something happen with pretty much my fathers last attempt to save my life he made a move that would change my life completely. He called me and told me if I move on and make a fresh start would I go with him, at this point I haven’t been in church for almost 8 years but I told him I will give it a try, and we started going to New Mount Olive in New Britain, ct under the guidance of superintendent pastor Ron e. Surrey, and the first day I stepped inside the church and went up for prayer. Pastor told me something that I will never forget.(not telling y’all) LOL, but from then on I’ve been more motivated more focus for what God has for me. It’s been very hard I lost a lot of friends on the way but I gained better friends out of it. I thought clubbing was the best feeling and highest you can get until I went to my first Gospel Concert with Youthful Praise and had a chance to actually go on there singing engagement a few times and from there I was hooked I never knew that Church Events are so enjoyable at that time I was still going through a lot in my life that’s when I met someone that changed my life around my best friends Tamara & Nicole, and through them my life changed when there was time I would have given up tamara was right there to pick up my broken pieces when I wanted to turn back on God for doing things to me they were there to encourage me, and I thank them so much from the bottom of my heart. The song entitled “Never would have made it†without you is very true. I never would have made it without y’all, and I thank the both of you from the bottom of my heart.
Now about our group: I was given the opportunity to sing at my first concert in November for pastor McCoy and the Simms memorial COGIC, and from the response we got that night we decided to put a group together which only started off with 4 members but now we have 9 and we are still trying to expand and grow with God blessing I believe it’s able to happen. I have faith the side of a mustard seed.
I've been singing for the past 4yrs so please pray for me :) and I love singing for the LORD. I love hearing “harmonies†and people singing for the lord. Some people whom I've learned from have been Pastor Ron Surrey, Youthful praise, Pastor Hubert Powell, Tamara Smith, Sis Atwater, Sis Val Fairley, Tyrone brown, Daschelle Fairley and a host of others. It’s been very hard so far but through it all God is teaching me patience. I never wanted to sing or be in ministry, and I thought this would be an easy transition but I know now that sometimes God don’t give you things right away. God is telling me that I have to take you through a few more things to teach you. That’s why I put tested as our mood because God is given us a test Everyday to see how we do and when we think we are finish he gives us another test. So I’m thankful for the test. I love my Young band, and I when the anointing falls upon them watch out. I believe God got great things in store for them and us too. So keep us in your prayers as we strive for what God has in store for us. I love my group, and I love my band. I’m Glad I get to see y’all (now) before y’all blow up and forget about me LOL. What is in the word rebirth?In the natural sense we all know that we can not be "reborn",but in the spiritual sense we can be "reborn" in Christ. As we see in the conversation Jesus has with Nicodemus in the third chapter of St John. Where Jesus states to Nicodemus "I tell you the truth,no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh,but the Spirit gives birth to spirit." (St John 3:5-6)Rebirth signifies how the founder of this dynamic group of young people felt when he thought of the concept of forming this ensemble. Hence the name J.Eason.& Rebirth was inspired.
