Bad Boys of 79

New album “Evil Leads the Dance” out April 7.Bad Boys of ‘79 is Alex Puddu's comeback on the electronica scene after the break-up of Puddu Varano,together with Giuseppe De Bellis( Geniuser,Anesthesia)and the Danish Bass Player Maria Holst. When you listen to this album there's no doubt about where Alex gets his kicks and inspiration from: Late-night encounters on back streets as seen in dystopic movies such as The Warriors, Escape from New York, The new Barbarians, Tenebrae, Nightmare in the City... just to mention a few. The sound of Bad Boys of 79 is based on break beats and samples with the sonority of early 80s’ synths and delay-effects, all played and recorded with a minimalistic accuracy. Alex Puddu composed, recorded, and produced the album himself and describes the sound of the project in a few words: “Easy beat, evil bite “… The album features several guests performances by artists such as Lasse Storm (the voice of Sha la las), Morten Dalhoff (bass player of Skywriter) Justin Schøning (Beat Me Up Baby, 3eme Sexe) and last, but certainly not least, Peter Peter (former member of Sort Sol and Bleeder) who co-wrote the electro-post-apocalyptic track"We are the Bad Boys" and contributes with a killer guitar riff reminiscent of the early days with his punk/ band “Sods” Photo by henrik Hviid www.henrik-hviid.dk
