Sounds Like: InfinityPaper Girl Number One aka Chi-Chi GirlPAPERGIRLS are an acronym for: Positive Attitude Plus Energetic Rocking Gorgeous Intelligent Role models with Loving Support, but more importantly its young ladies uniting, achieving goals to acquire paper (money).PAPERGIRLS was founded in 2000 by Infinity, it has been trademarked and incorporated. Its creation was established from an idea of unity. Collectively a team of young women appeared to be more powerful than an individual female in the industry. While there were many male groups like Dip set, Cash money, Wu tang, etc., there were no female groups in the Rap genre of music. Females were getting lost in the musical industry.Infinity, born in Brooklyn, a multi-cultural mix of Irish and Nigerian, grew up in Queens NY. A background of dance, gymnastics, cheerleading, and writing cheers led to an aspiration for rapping. As she wrote cheers for her squad the rhymes turned into poems, then raps. By age 13, Infinity known then as Half Note, recorded songs with Big Daddy Kane, and won trophies battling and competing at various shows. Infinity graduated High school and continued her education studying Music Business Management at St. Johns University and Five Towns College. Immediately after graduation in 1997, Infinity toured with Wu-tang, releasing her own mix-tape and vinyl, receiving hundreds of spins on college radio, which resulted in a publishing company on ASCAP. Hot 97 of NY played her theme song for Curt Flirt, Wendy Williams and Red Alert that year.In 1999, Infinity graduated with a Bachelors degree from Monroe College in the Bronx. Infinity’s aspiration for rapping intensified. With the experience of touring and knowledge she acquired from behind the scenes, record companies preferred to sign her as an artist rather than a staff worker. As with most female rappers she would find it difficult to individually achieve personal goals in a male dominated industry, so Infinity formed a group called The "Ambassadors" three female rappers, one Italian (Chyna White), one Filipino (Ms.Saigon) and one multi-cultural Nigerian (Infinity). Infinity then continued forming a street support team called "PAPERGIRLS". Infinity’s talent and creativity was not limited to rapping, she began designing her own clothing to wear on stage. The exposure of her clothing apparel led to the opening of her Internet store, which resulted in an opportunity to design for the multi-million dollar company "Johnny Girl". It also paved the way for modeling and magazine exposure (appeared in three issues of XXL Magazine wearing Johnny Girl sportswear).Infinity continued her quest in the music industry through another channel, she would compete in an HBO special called "Blaze Battle", which can be seen on DVD round one in any music store. Pressing on from years 2000 to 2004 she released approximately five of her own cds which featured many artists such as Trina, Nate Dogg, Crooked I, Magic Don Juan, and several other local talents including one of her close relatives named Kanyve. She also has freestyles on some of the most well known DJ’s mixed cds, to name a few, Kay Slay, Shogun, EMS, Ron G, SynCity, Absolute, Roughandz, Jay Dell and Rello, and Lazy Kay. She had appearances in ASCAP magazine, and ASCAP showcase. Performed many times at The Las Vegas Magic Convention, hosted King magazine party with Gloria Velez, featured on Comcast TV, NY’s Hot 97 Street Soldiers with Remmy Martin, launched two websites, released two videos "Papergirls", and "Ooh Wee" on Kids Gotta Eat TV (aired two years), and a underground video "Welcome to the Streets." She received great reviews on a write up for "Bout my Paper" mixed cd.She promoted her mixed CDs in Puerto Rico Power Music Summit, she was featured on All Access DVD Magazine with Trina, opened up performing for Li’l Flip at The Sucker Free Car Show in Houston Texas, Juvenile at The Wycleff Car Show in Hempstead New York, which can be seen on What’s really Hood dvd volume 3 and received heavy spins in Lagos and Imo state Nigeria for a single she released called "Nigerian Princess". She also did a "Papergirls" documentary, which can be seen on Street Styles DVD magazine volume 1.In 2005, still on the grind, Infinity recorded songs with multi platinum producers Kwame, Ty Fyffe, Sha Money XL, Gordy Groove, Omen, and Blue Note. She was putting it all together in Houston Texas working on her album with Sucka Free/Sony Records, whom was responsible for Lil Flips multi-platinum success. While working on her album, Infinity opened a boutique in Houston, Texas where she sold the clothes she designed, and mixed cd’s by local artists as well as herself. While in Houston (despite the hardship with Li’l Flip on the label Sucka Free/Sony) Infinity remained hopeful that her potential deal would not go sour. She kept busy performing at local malls, radio shows, recorded songs with top producers (Blue Note and Joe Tracks for Kruger’s album on Def Jams, Black Rob’s album on Bad Boy), modeled for Houston’s Black & Single magazine Dec/Jan issue, featured on Chop TV vol 14 chopped and screwed videos as she ripped the stage with her free styles as well as hosted and performed in Louisiana for Rap Wars show. Infinity reached yet another accomplishment when she released her first underground mixed cd in the south with DJ Chill called "Welcome Me 2 Da Dirty" she flowed over down south tracks but still kept it NY. She also recorded songs with Zero, Lil Flip, Yung Redd, Tre and Ronnie Spencer. At that time, Sucka Free was opening a new label in Memphis Tennessee with the biggest independent distributors Select-o-hits. Infinity would have teamed up with another young female rapper from Memphis named Ms. Debonair, to start a group called "PAPERGIRL SOUTH". Though these young ladies had a strong resemblance, their styles were completely different but brought the love that Jayz and Bun B had on"Big Pimpin". Unfortunately, this Dynamic Duo would never come to fruition. While Suckafree and Li’l Flip ironed out their differences, and New Orleans took over Houston during the Katrina disaster in 2006, Infinity parted ways with the label and relocated to Atlanta, GA for a change of pace and bigger opportunities.By 2007 Infinity became gainfully employed for a local Atlanta corporation, settled down (geographically) and purchased a condo in the midtown area. Still on her grind pollying with the music industry of the greater Atlanta. She helped promote the upscale event for Stacy Dash and Playboy Magazine at Hotel 12, and recorded tracks with Blockstars,Young Juvie of the Franchise Boys, Track Runners, Problem Child, Doe Boyz, Head Shell Ent Elba Idris and DJ Shogun and worked with Donnell Jones production team.Infinity had no intentions of switching her style to accommodate the Atlanta "Lean with it Rock with it" epidemic. She took it back to her roots and recorded songs that related to her African background, lyrical experience and aspiration to make positive money. She linked up with African reggae artist B-Clay, to produce a Nigerian Hip-Hop and Reggae album. They will be releasing the album and performing shows this summer of 2008.Her concept is "Chi-Chi Girl". In Nigeria a large majority females names begin with "Chi" which means a girl that is a gift from God. Infinity's Nigerian name is Chinyere. She has seven sisters in Nigeria that sing and rap. Her sister, Ijeoma is currently working on her Gospel album. For 2008, Infinity's goal is to release Chi-Chi Girl with the hope of inspiring African woman to stand up and represent; for all to win in this money game that we play!Write up by COFFEE BRNTHZ [email protected]
