Martin Luther King.Whose Real name is Martin Jeng, born 1984 in Bakau new town. Son of Anthony Jeng a Senegalese and Joanna Joof a Gambian is Gambia's indisputable up coming music composer, writer, singer and instrumental programmer is now set up straight for his musical promos after having been hidden undercover for more than a decade now.
He started his music in his primary school days NOT singing as a Rapper but first learned how to played instruments at an early age before involving in rap and or singing.
At the age of 13 he was a member of a live band whiles going to junior high school playing flute and drums (instruments) and off course use to absent in school a lot. He was also in the Famous Gambia National Scout Band for a while.
Martin a single SON of her MUM, is now a diploma holder in Business Information Technology (HND) graduated from Gambia High School (2003) after which he went to the International Business College (2006) where he got his diploma. Then took the Computer A+ course at Quantumnet Institute of Technology, and now employed as an IT Analyst and assistant control manager at FIG Bererau De Change Ltd.
He released very little of his numerous tracks for the past 3 years some of which are often played in radio stations in The Gambia, Like Black Youth man, Hello Mamia and DO DEH HAM which became an undesputed hit song all over the Gambia just for less than a month. MLK's video clip of the song "HELLO MAMIA" a special song he made for his beloved mother JOANNA JOOF featuring The Gambia's number one Actress- AMIE CHERRY has recently WON HIP HOP Song of the year at the Gambian Talents Award 2008 launched at Jamma Hall.
MLK is a rap genius, his creativity and the way he artistically weaves his lyrics had made him stand out of the bigger crowd. And has a unique style of blending African local instruments with modern ones topping it with the messages of his name sake of black consciousness and liberty always bring him home as a true African and a proud son of the smiling coast.
Many people are eager to see "a Martin Luther King ALBUM" After having heard the smash boom track DO DEH HAM. The boy is hardly working on his first album to see hw best to drop it for the fans out there. And he concludes by saying in Wollof "Album bi sah DO DEH HAM".
