Circle of Friends Book Club II has come a long way since President, Shunda (Blocker) Leigh, started it in January 1997 in Atlanta, Georgia. It is the largest group (with over 65 active members) in the Circle of Friends Book Club organization that originated under the visionary leadership of Jennifer Copeland in Valdosta, Georgia.
COF II is the road map that bonds and links the chain of all the other chapters. Its spiral chain drives a powerful and positive response that has moved others in the literary arena.
In September 1997, several members of Circle of Friends Book Club II appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Book Club's Anniversary Show. Circle of Friends Book Club II has been successful in hosting book signings for authors such as E. Lynn Harris, Sheneska Jackson, Walter Mosley, Omar Tyree, Eric Jerome Dickey, Michael Baisden and many, many others.
Our motto is "Sistahs Sharing Knowledge." Each member of Circle of Friends Book Club promises to promote and spread knowledge by marketing literacy every chance they get!
