Altemus has been a work in progress since the summer of 2002. Brian and
Steve met working together landscaping for a nursing home in Doylestown when they each discovered an equal passion for music. One day Brian invited Steve to meet Jeremy whom he had grown up with. They started jamming together in Jeremys basement once or twice every couple of weeks, nothing serious, just having fun. A vibe was felt immediately. As fate would have it though, Brians dreams would lead him on a journey to California. Before him and his girlfriend at the time left, a party was held. Incomes Otto. The brother of said ex. The vibe was short lived as Brian left a few weeks later. Everyone did their thing. Infact Otto and Jeremy played in a cover band and Steve didn't even know them.Two years past. End of Summer, 2004. One day, much to everyones surprise, Brian had returned. Unannounced. Completely covert. The dream was reborn. A week or two past before Steve, Brian and Jeremy started jammin the basement again. Altemus was born. The trio wrote a handful of songs and started playing open mic nights @ Towey's Bar in Hatboro. Otto would come out to the Open Mic night and everytime Altemus played Crazy Game Of Poker, they would invite Otto to play lead. Months past. Practice started as one day, now into three or four when able. Otto would come over and jam a few times here and there until one day he left his gear. 4 months later the demo was recorded.After 9 months time, the band was booking local gigs and small venues. Recent participants of the Emergenza Battle of the Bands competition, the band placed in the top 7 bands of Philadelphia.Over time, the band has evolved into an eclectic blend of all musical genres, influenced by 311, Sublime, RHCP, Tool, OAR, Led Zeppelin and The Grateful Dead.
