About Me

I think that without music, I’d be miserable. There is some mysterious way that music can bring such emotion and passion into life. The time between when your favorite band walks on stage at a concert and the moment they begin playing their first song is probably the most suspenseful and exciting time ever. Then, when they break into the first song it’s like a breath of fresh air. If the first few songs on Sublime’s self-titled album make you think about the beginning of a Dave Matthews Band concert, chances are you’re a lot like me. Summertime is definitely my favorite time of year. There is no place I’d rather be than tailgating with other fans on a hot summer day and then seeing an amazing concert at an outdoor venue. I would do just about anything to see a concert at the Gorge or Red Rocks. I think the perfect day would be spent snorkeling or jet skiing during the morning followed by a long nap on the beach, and then grilling Churasco steaks in the backyard that evening with some ice-cold beers, laughing and telling stories with a bunch of friends. The greatest feeling in the world is the tingle of slightly sunburned skin long after the sun has gone down. Another great feeling is how happy I am when I get home after a long day of work and let my dog Russell out of his cage, and he’s so happy to see me that his wagging tail shakes his entire body back and forth. It’s amazing how a thirteen pound little mutt can be a remedy for even the worst of moods! Most people get mad when they take their dog to the park and turn around to find him rolling in a mud puddle. Not me, I just get a big smile on my face. I guess that’s a good thing though, smiling. I wonder if God smiles at puppies rolling around in the mud. I’d bet he does. I can’t understand how God could have ever fathomed what he was creating when he did it. Puppies that love mud puddles. Musicians so talented that thousands of people travel to see them play their guitars and sing their tunes. Summer and sunburns, smiles and laughter. Sometimes, when you take a moment to breathe it all in, life is truly...sublime.
