Listen to the growly things.

About Me

I just started school again (it's been 5+ years!) on April 2nd. No idea what my eventual degree will be, but I'm finally going.

My Interests

I'm boring; just enjoy organizing libraries and getting my homework done. Dancing. Riding bikes. Playing kickball. Good things.

I'd like to meet:

More robots.

Music:

Quiet is nice. So is some music. I'm being lazy and refusing to list it again now.

Movies:

If I'm in a house and somebody's watching a movie, I'll sit down and watch parts of it. Sometimes I'll try and watch something, but it's pretty hard for me to sit down and watch a movie all the way through.

Ghostbusters (both 1 + 2). Mirrormask. The Corpse Bride (though anything Burton makes is lovely).

Television:

is frustrating. It'd be fun to drop one off a freeway overpass someday.....
Nonetheless, a friend of mine got me started on watching Buffy on Tuesdays at the Mission. I've also been known to watch large amounts of Smallville and all of a sudden I'm actually turning on the television to watch 30 Rock. Weird!

Books:

Old tarot cards and patterned origami paper make the best bookmarks. Bus tickets. Receipts with totals of $11.11 or $6.66 on them (or showing that amount as change). The books you shouldn't be reading anyway are (nearly) always eclipsed by such things. Fortunes from cookies.

Despite Everything: A Cometbus Omnibus by Aaron Cometbus. Doris: an Anthology 1991 - 2001 by Cindy Gretchen Ovenrack Crabb. The Neverending Story by Michael Ende. American Gods, Anansi Boys, Neverwhere, Smoke and Mirrors and Stardust by Neil Gaiman. Wild Fermentation by Sandor Katz. The Outlaw Bible of American Literature edited by Alan Kaufman, Neil Ortenberg and Barney Rosset. Is it Utopia Yet? by Kat Kinkade. The Onion Girl by Charles de Lint. Innocent When You Dream: The Tom Waits Reader edited by Mac Montandon. My Year of Meats by Ruth L. Ozeki. The Botany of Desire by Michael Pollan. The His Dark Materials Trilogy (The Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife and The Amber Spyglass) by Phillip Pullman. Kiss of the Spider Woman by Manuel Puig. The Harry Potter books by J.K. Rowling. Fast Food Nation by Eric Shlosser. Webs of Power: Notes from the Global Uprising by Starhawk.
Blue Monday by Chynna Clugston-Major. Sandman by Neil Gaiman. Shutterbug Follies by Jason Little. Blankets by Craig Thompson.

Heroes:

Plato Bananas (the monkey); Prrr, Mayhem and Chime (my bikes); José Bové (the French sheep farmer who bulldozed a McDonalds); small children who still flail'n'wail and my aunt (who is both a nurse and an amputee). Every single person who utilizes a bicycle as their primary form of transport, placing their lives in the hands of strangers every time they go the distance. My great-grandmother, who came to the United States alone, knowing no English and was deaf. My friends and teammates.
