ABOUT US:
Like many other Christian Band, we’re passionate about our Savior who is more than enough. God had blessed us with these gifts and we thought, “Hey, why not get together and bang here, turn on amps loud, and hit on keys for God.†But truthfully, it’s more then just making noises and looking cool. It's not "just a hobby" but it's a ministry.
“How Did We Get Together?â€
We were originally formed by Elijah [Eli] Moua who is currently living in Idaho (Bless his heart). Throughout the years that Eli spent with our youth group, one random day in December, he gathered us up and called us one day that we all were in a band.
“How Did We Get the Name Tabitha’s Song?â€
Getting the band name was the difficult part. Everyone had ideas that it seemed like we all didn't have ideas too[Confusing... But you get what I mean]. We sat down in our chapel, and brain stormed. Nou Lo popped up saying “What about Tabitha’s Shadow?†The rest of us were unsure about the “Shadow†part. So Eli said “What about Tabitha’s Song?†Most of us were still bit shaky but decided to let God lead the way and not our selfish desires to lead the way. We trust in Him that "Tabitha's Song" will bring glory to Him.
"In Joppa, there was a disciple named Tabitha (which, when translated, is Dorcas), who was always doing good and helping the poor. About that time, she became sick and died, and her body was washed and placed in an unstair room. Lydda was near Joppa; so when the disciples heard that Peter was in Lydda, they sent two men to him and urged him, 'Please come at once!'. Peter went with them, and when he arrived he was taken upstairs to the room. All the windows stood around him, crying and showing him the robes and other clothing that Dorcas had made while she was still with them. Peter sent them all out of the room; then he got down on his knees and prayed. Turning towards the dead woman, he said, 'Tabitha, get up.' She opened her eyes, and seeing Peter she sat up. He took her by the hand and helped her to her feet. Then he called the believers and the widows and presented her to them alive. This became known all over Joppa, and many stayed in Joppa for some time with a tanner named Simon." Acts 9:36-42
Tabitha’s Song is formed to be songs of Tabitha [Dorcas]-Songs to praise God for what He has done for us.
It's been nearly three long years and God is still working within us. God has given us different passions, different ways in walking with him, and different views but one passionate purpose: “To spread the love that we have with our Sweet Savior, Jesus Christ and while we're at it...Rock It Out! Yes, we're Hmong (and for those who don’t know what Hmong is...we’re really unsure either. Hahaha) and we're Christians.
For those who has supported us from day one, thank you. We can truly say from the bottom of our hearts that because you guys have helped us prayed for us, God is moving across the nation and His name is getting across. But most of all, we want to thank our Lord Jesus Christ. [sigh] Do we need to say more? haha. He's been awesome and how Nou Lo says it, “God is like WHOA!â€
Peace and love to all of you guys and remember to always put the Lord in front of your eyes.
