Cape Renewal is a band that was once called epic by some guy sometime in 2003. With that said, let's start at the beginning. In December of 2000 Cape Renewal was chartered about 500 yards away from Touchdown Jesus in South Bend, Indiana. The band released an EP called ''Hierarchy of Regression''. Nobody knew what that meant, not even the band. Later Cape Renewal found out that it wasnt even an EP by definition, but people still bought it even though it was blatantly misleading.
It was at this time that Cape Renewal decided they should have a manager, a street team, real records and some impressively hard looking merchandise. While getting all this fired up, Cape Renewal managed to create the financial sinkhole named ''Accidentally Saw the Northern Lights'', which the band later found out was a reference to smoking pot. The idea really came to Cape Renewal when they saw a bird almost get killed by an SUV and when they literally accidentally saw the northern lights. The record was real looking and Cape Renewal reportedly felt pretty good about the way things were going, so they got it in the hands of record companies as they shopped for labels. LOLZ!
After mixing up the lineup for a while Cape Renewal came out strong with a new manager and a new "EP" (yeah, right) called ''Jens Nikolai Jorgenson''. They came up with the name because the record had an overall Norse theme with warlocks and ancient ships and other assorted maritime imagery. This record did pretty well for Cape Renewal. Cape Renewal started to branch out and play in more cities such as Nashville, St. Louis, Chicago, Indianapolis, Quad Cities, Mexico City etc... When Cape Renewal played these shows they told people they were "on tour". It is still not clear to this day if anyone believed that. By some insane stroke of luck, Cape Renewal toured on that record with a couple of cool bands and a 1990 Chevy Astro that they bought off eBay (an online electronic auction website). After the tour Cape Renewal had another lineup shift and came back with a bunch of songs that they really enjoyed.
The record ''Watercolor'' was written and sources say the band was never more proud. Cape Renewal signed with Angryson Records and didn't do anything with the record. It was during this time that Cape Renewal reportedly gave up on the idea of becoming rock stars and spent their time writing and performing for their own sheer pleasure. These were the best times for Cape Renewal, reportedly. Eventually the band parted ways for various reasons. There are rumors once in a while that there will be a Cape Renewal reunion show. While this is probably not true at all, sources say there are songs being written, songs being recorded, and dialogue happening with the members of the latest lineup of Cape Renewal.
Cape Renewal records and merchandise can still be bought if you send us a message. The Haiku is as follows:
Freakin' rocked
the masses for years
and so now the time has come
to be really vague
about things...

So far Cape Renewal has eaten 7 guitar players, 2 bass players, 3 singers, and 2 drummers. OMG! LOLZ!
